Forza Horizon Needs Better Characters
Show Notes Transcript

Can you name a character from Forza Horizon 3? What about 4 or Forza Horizon 5? We sure as heck couldn't, and that was a big talking point on this edition of the Forza World Podcast. We're back after a little summer break, and we had some Forza topics to discuss, and a ton of car news to cover, including new cars from Koenigsegg, Bentley, McLaren, Bugatti, Hennessey, Dodge, Honda, and more, as well a new Ford engine, and much more. The boys also have some interesting Forza news too: some personalities from Donut Media (Past Gas Podcast) will be featured at some point in Forza Horizon 5. This is pretty significant, because to our knowledge, this will mark the first time that real public figures will be featured in a Horizon game, and be seen as well. All this and more on episode 8!

00;00;22;00 - 00;00;25;27
Speaker 1
This is episode eight of the Forza World podcast.

00;00;26;13 - 00;00;39;15
Speaker 2
It was called. Yeah, almost in a bit. It has been a while, Jason and I. Yeah. Anyway, welcome back to the For the World podcast. It's episode eight. Jason and I took a undisclosed summer break.

00;00;39;17 - 00;00;46;09
Speaker 3
We wanted to take a break, but we didn't think we had to tell anybody. Yeah, so we also didn't know it was a break until about 10 minutes ago.

00;00;46;10 - 00;00;46;19
Speaker 2
No.

00;00;46;20 - 00;00;47;19
Speaker 3
Yeah, that was a bit of a break.

00;00;47;19 - 00;00;49;08
Speaker 2
It was, yeah. Well, yeah, it was a good break.

00;00;49;21 - 00;00;50;03
Speaker 1
Yeah.

00;00;50;04 - 00;01;03;10
Speaker 3
I don't know. It's tough to say. Like, I mean, at the same time, I was just about to say it looks like, you know, we've got a lot to get into. We do. And we don't. I mean, yeah, for a standpoint. I don't know. It's been I don't want to say it's been quiet on the Forza motorsport front.

00;01;03;10 - 00;01;09;01
Speaker 3
I got nothing. I have not heard a peep, so that's fine. But as far as horizon goes.

00;01;09;01 - 00;01;10;10
Speaker 2
There have been a couple updates.

00;01;10;15 - 00;01;11;17
Speaker 3
Just small stuff I think.

00;01;11;17 - 00;01;20;18
Speaker 2
Right. I think the biggest thing was the one that I mentioned to you earlier. What was it? I can't remember. I think it was earlier this month where Donut released their podcast.

00;01;21;00 - 00;01;23;10
Speaker 3
Oh, that's a significant one.

00;01;23;10 - 00;01;48;11
Speaker 2
That's pretty significant. Yeah. So we're not going to mention anything about that right away. We'll get into that later. Yes, very cool. But we're excited for that. Other than that, for the a wise horizon wise, there hasn't been anything too crazy. They had a couple updates. There's some weird Rami's Racing History Month where you basically race a bunch of cars around Mexico for a new story.

00;01;48;11 - 00;01;50;26
Speaker 3
Yeah, I didn't really get that. It just sounds like, you know, kind of a.

00;01;51;13 - 00;02;01;21
Speaker 2
I think it was just playground games being like, oh, we haven't done anything new in a really long time. We need to think of something. What's a character that no one really cares about? Let's make them significant.

00;02;01;29 - 00;02;03;18
Speaker 3
I couldn't name you a single character.

00;02;03;23 - 00;02;05;03
Speaker 2
That's my point with you.

00;02;05;06 - 00;02;25;06
Speaker 3
That's exactly hot Wheels car park, though. I mean, the playability still there. I'll say that I've been enjoying it. And you're right. Like, I mean, for us, they're just filling in the gaps, I'd say with little small storylines for people who have air quotes. Beat the Hot Wheels pack. Yep. Including myself. Yeah. Until the next expansion, whatever that ends up being, I don't know what it'll be.

00;02;25;06 - 00;02;30;04
Speaker 3
However or however. Okay.

00;02;30;04 - 00;02;32;04
Speaker 2
Clarkson Oh, okay.

00;02;32;07 - 00;02;32;21
Speaker 3
Really, that.

00;02;33;03 - 00;02;33;12
Speaker 2
That was.

00;02;33;29 - 00;02;45;07
Speaker 3
However. All right. Anyways, um, I don't know. I would say the Hot Wheels pack has a lot of playability even now. I think, in my opinion, it does. You're nodding. No, you seem to.

00;02;45;07 - 00;03;08;10
Speaker 2
Would you would you would be correct in saying that, from my opinion, you know, this is like it's an opinionated thing. Welcome to a podcast. Who who cares? Yeah. So whatever you guys want to say, you're wrong, because it's not my opinion. So, no, it's it's been a lot of fun because now it's to the point where I spawn into the Hot Wheels car park and I don't feel inclined to go to the main map right away.

00;03;08;11 - 00;03;11;12
Speaker 3
That's Blizzard Mountain Territory type phrase. Anyways.

00;03;11;26 - 00;03;27;21
Speaker 2
Unless I'm trying to do like the seasonal stuff because back in Horizon three didn't have the seasonal stuff to do where it's just like, hey, you do these races and these speed traps and get some points to get the new exclusive cars. As soon as I'm done that, I'll just buy into the Hot Wheels map. I'll rip around.

00;03;27;21 - 00;03;47;22
Speaker 2
Some of the cars that you get are tons of fun. The problem? So much fun. Yeah. Sounds unreal. Um, the Copo Camaro is not still like it. It. It's nuts. Yeah, I love it. I love going. I, you know, I didn't get one of the tunes. It's downloaded. I just met through some upgrades in it. And, you know, tried to make it my own.

00;03;47;23 - 00;03;49;00
Speaker 1
Did you know why the lazy.

00;03;49;06 - 00;03;52;05
Speaker 3
The copo you can you can order that from any dealer.

00;03;52;17 - 00;03;58;07
Speaker 2
From a Chevy dealer? Yeah, I didn't know that. No, no, it's not. It's legal. Yeah, obviously. Yeah.

00;03;58;07 - 00;04;01;02
Speaker 3
Yeah. So it's like, can you do that with Roush cars?

00;04;01;13 - 00;04;02;12
Speaker 2
Yeah, you can do that.

00;04;02;12 - 00;04;04;25
Speaker 3
So it's like their version of Roush, is it not?

00;04;04;25 - 00;04;09;00
Speaker 2
Yeah, in a way, Roush. Roush does a lot of cool vehicles.

00;04;09;00 - 00;04;10;23
Speaker 3
Sorry. Yeah, yeah. Corporate jet.

00;04;10;23 - 00;04;20;27
Speaker 2
That's right. There you go. Yes. But technically, the Cobra jet now is like the Cobra Jet 1400. And it's an electric Mustang, which is still sick. But it's.

00;04;20;27 - 00;04;26;27
Speaker 3
Different. It's different and has it has a bit of a whiff to it. Yes. Yeah. A bit of an electric stinky with.

00;04;26;27 - 00;04;35;18
Speaker 2
Yes. Like, you know, you burn it, you try to plug something into an outlet and it kind of burns a little bit. You smell like no. Hmm. I don't like that smell.

00;04;35;18 - 00;04;46;19
Speaker 3
I do like cars that have like, well, say hybrid power like that. I think that's like the future of racing and motorsport and all that. Yeah, but there's something about that was crisp crap.

00;04;46;21 - 00;04;47;27
Speaker 2
That was a crisp, um.

00;04;48;12 - 00;04;55;13
Speaker 3
There's something about being in a drag strip and having an electric element that just seems really wrong.

00;04;55;13 - 00;05;00;23
Speaker 2
And you know what? I've heard some electric cars. Hold on. You got to get the mic right by it.

00;05;01;11 - 00;05;04;05
Speaker 3
Have a listen.

00;05;04;05 - 00;05;07;02
Speaker 2
Mm, a little. I have some more for you there.

00;05;07;05 - 00;05;09;16
Speaker 3
Beer's been sitting around for a year or so to see how good it is.

00;05;11;00 - 00;05;27;20
Speaker 2
That's pretty good. It's still pretty good. The sound of electric cars that I like at the dragstrip is when they pull up and then they cut it. And then you just have that super high pitched electric motor whine and it's kind of like a supercharger on steroids without the exhaust.

00;05;27;20 - 00;05;29;08
Speaker 3
Straight up a turbine. It is.

00;05;29;16 - 00;05;30;11
Speaker 1
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

00;05;30;21 - 00;05;41;20
Speaker 2
It's not as deafening is like a jet turbine that you would have. Like when you hear the jet trucks that go on and they have to wind up for a good 45 minutes before they actually do a, you know, 3/2 run down.

00;05;41;24 - 00;05;49;29
Speaker 3
They have drag strips like we do in the UK. Like is it quite as inbred as it is in North America? I doubt.

00;05;49;29 - 00;05;53;17
Speaker 2
It. I doubt it. I doubt it's as inbred as North America.

00;05;54;02 - 00;06;00;03
Speaker 3
Lovely. It's a lovely time going to a North American drag strip. It is. There's nothing like it, really. You know what's you know.

00;06;00;05 - 00;06;05;23
Speaker 2
What's on my bucket list for drag strips Australia.

00;06;05;23 - 00;06;06;10
Speaker 3
I don't get it.

00;06;07;04 - 00;06;08;00
Speaker 2
What do you mean you don't like?

00;06;08;00 - 00;06;08;21
Speaker 3
You just want to do it.

00;06;08;28 - 00;06;41;03
Speaker 2
I would love to go to a drag strip or a racetrack or a they have burnout competitions, they have burnout competitions in Australia. If there's anyone listening from Australia, please send us videos of drag strip or drag strip burnout competitions is if you haven't seen them, it's nuts. You have like a Holden ute with a blower coming out of the hood that's three and a half feet tall and massive rear tires that just get completely destroyed in the spring.

00;06;41;03 - 00;06;42;20
Speaker 2
No competition, which is just great.

00;06;42;20 - 00;06;44;06
Speaker 3
Like I remember seeing something about this.

00;06;44;06 - 00;06;50;22
Speaker 2
Yeah, that's I. Yeah, it's very. It's an American thing to do, but I know it's not an American thing to do, but it's.

00;06;50;22 - 00;06;51;20
Speaker 3
American at heart.

00;06;52;03 - 00;06;55;06
Speaker 2
Yeah, it's the Muppets. See that? That's the essence.

00;06;55;06 - 00;06;56;10
Speaker 1
Of. Yeah, exactly.

00;06;56;26 - 00;07;00;25
Speaker 2
So before we get into anything else, I do want to go over that donut thing that we mentioned.

00;07;00;25 - 00;07;01;28
Speaker 3
So, yeah, let's wrap that up.

00;07;01;28 - 00;07;08;26
Speaker 2
If, if you haven't been listening to Past Gas, which is a brilliant podcast.

00;07;08;26 - 00;07;09;27
Speaker 3
By the way. It's honestly really.

00;07;09;27 - 00;07;17;04
Speaker 2
Good. It's a really good podcast. And no, we're not sponsored by donuts, although I think that would be pretty cool.

00;07;18;21 - 00;07;19;07
Speaker 3
Shout out.

00;07;19;13 - 00;07;24;09
Speaker 2
Shout out donut. Um, shout out the donut Instagram specifically because.

00;07;24;15 - 00;07;27;19
Speaker 3
Yeah don't wanna Instagram admin shout out.

00;07;27;20 - 00;07;28;05
Speaker 2
Yes.

00;07;28;05 - 00;07;30;28
Speaker 3
Whoever that is is a nice go.

00;07;30;28 - 00;07;31;19
Speaker 2
To fellow.

00;07;31;19 - 00;07;31;23
Speaker 3
I.

00;07;31;23 - 00;07;32;16
Speaker 2
Think go to.

00;07;33;04 - 00;07;35;23
Speaker 3
The got yeah. The go to if you have Instagram Instagrams.

00;07;35;23 - 00;07;56;24
Speaker 2
Yes. But if you haven't, if you haven't listened to their podcast you've got to listen to it. It's great. They got a really a lot of really good stories. Second of all, the one episode at the end of it they talked about having a four is a expansion ish type thing. So this past month was Rami's Racing History Month.

00;07;57;05 - 00;08;18;15
Speaker 2
I don't know if it's going to be September or October or when specifically it's going to be released. They said August or September. So I'm guessing it's going to be this next update that's coming, but there's going to be a story that we can complete and playthrough and actually see donut characters, characters, people I think.

00;08;18;18 - 00;08;19;29
Speaker 3
I didn't know went that deep. That's pretty cool.

00;08;19;29 - 00;08;39;03
Speaker 2
Yeah, they got their faces skinned. Wow. I know James is in it. Nolan's in it. Jeremiah is in it. I can't remember who else is in it, but there's going to be high Carlo car, a whole bunch of the donut trucks or donut vehicles in general, which is going to be really cool.

00;08;39;03 - 00;08;39;19
Speaker 3
That'll be sexy.

00;08;40;01 - 00;08;55;05
Speaker 2
So I'm super excited for that. I'm not too sure if the low truck and the low car that we're going to be able to drive are going to be as reliable as they are in real life. I hope they're going to be more reliable so we can actually wrap them around.

00;08;55;26 - 00;08;56;22
Speaker 3
True. Good point.

00;08;57;00 - 00;08;57;13
Speaker 2
Good point.

00;08;57;13 - 00;09;02;24
Speaker 3
But imagine having like full of bugs.

00;09;02;24 - 00;09;25;16
Speaker 1
Just flip my nose on your nose. My nose. Oh, it was a ladybug. And so my leg. Now you why are you like this is the problem with doing outdoors doing outdoor shows that scared the shit ahead of me. What? Why are you like this ladybug?

00;09;25;25 - 00;09;29;28
Speaker 2
Oh, my God. All right. I forgot where we were.

00;09;29;28 - 00;09;39;24
Speaker 3
Not horrible. You were talking about the donut folks being. Oh, sorry. The reliability of. Oh, reliability. Can you imagine having full, like, some damage on you. Just start right off the lights.

00;09;39;29 - 00;09;42;24
Speaker 1
Oh yeah. Just like you get the thing.

00;09;42;24 - 00;09;44;18
Speaker 3
Lights up on the one side we like the.

00;09;44;23 - 00;09;48;04
Speaker 2
Higher parts, lights up like a Christmas tree. And then all of a sudden, you know, yeah, that.

00;09;48;04 - 00;09;48;16
Speaker 3
Would be.

00;09;48;16 - 00;09;52;19
Speaker 2
Accurate. No one comes on over the over the the on a.

00;09;53;22 - 00;09;56;20
Speaker 3
Oh that would be cool if he was doing the voices instead of an or.

00;09;56;20 - 00;09;58;19
Speaker 2
Whatever. Yeah that would be cool.

00;09;58;19 - 00;09;59;24
Speaker 3
That's a wish list. Yeah. Yeah.

00;10;01;02 - 00;10;20;11
Speaker 2
I could just imagine you get into the low car, you get into the low three fifties at 350 and you go to start it up, you start going up the mountain and then all of a sudden, you know, turbo breaks and then the wing falls off and then you have no one coming over the speakers like shit. You better turn it back around while you still have momentum.

00;10;21;01 - 00;10;22;01
Speaker 1
I think that would be pretty cool.

00;10;22;01 - 00;10;25;10
Speaker 3
Yeah. You get to the top of the hill and it breaks down off the coast all the way back down.

00;10;25;25 - 00;10;29;25
Speaker 1
That would be a great the brakes overheat. Yeah, that would be a great mission. Yeah.

00;10;29;25 - 00;10;32;00
Speaker 3
20% braking on the way down.

00;10;32;00 - 00;10;32;29
Speaker 2
On the way down. No engine.

00;10;32;29 - 00;10;33;28
Speaker 3
Power. So no throttle.

00;10;34;19 - 00;10;37;26
Speaker 1
Why don't they hire us? That would be on every episode we've had.

00;10;37;26 - 00;10;38;13
Speaker 3
Is like.

00;10;38;20 - 00;10;39;18
Speaker 2
We have a perfect.

00;10;39;18 - 00;10;40;05
Speaker 1
Example.

00;10;40;05 - 00;10;42;12
Speaker 3
Yeah, I've like, okay, yeah, I'd hire us. Yeah.

00;10;42;12 - 00;11;07;20
Speaker 2
So imagine, honestly imagine that is a story where you have like you get up like because some of the stories are like a half and half thing where you do half and there's like a, you have a time limit to get there, but it's like, oh, you have 5 minutes to drive, you know, three kilometers. But imagine you have to drive all the way up that mountain in low car, and then you get to the top and then no one's like, Hey, we kind of ran into an issue.

00;11;07;20 - 00;11;15;11
Speaker 2
You're going to have to coast back down because we have no other way to get back down. Also, the brakes are kind of weird, so you only have about 20% braking. You only have.

00;11;15;11 - 00;11;16;22
Speaker 3
Brakes on the left side.

00;11;16;22 - 00;11;18;07
Speaker 1
You have brakes on the left.

00;11;18;07 - 00;11;20;25
Speaker 2
Side of your car. So please be careful.

00;11;21;22 - 00;11;22;02
Speaker 3
Use your e.

00;11;22;02 - 00;11;27;19
Speaker 2
Brake. Use your e brake. We don't really have any any more spare parts. GMC put us on.

00;11;27;20 - 00;11;33;01
Speaker 3
You have a damage bar on the right side. Yeah. Yeah, that'd be really good. That would be. It's already maxed out.

00;11;34;08 - 00;11;35;03
Speaker 1
It's already maxed.

00;11;35;03 - 00;11;36;21
Speaker 3
Out. One hit and you're done. Yeah.

00;11;36;22 - 00;11;38;15
Speaker 1
That would be a good one. That would be good. Good.

00;11;38;15 - 00;11;45;21
Speaker 2
And then you get down to the bottom of the hill and then James is standing there in front of my car and he's just like, What the hell's going on, man? Yeah, perfect. Done.

00;11;45;21 - 00;11;48;05
Speaker 3
This sounds like a YouTube video that does a video.

00;11;48;05 - 00;11;48;19
Speaker 2
Yeah.

00;11;48;20 - 00;11;50;17
Speaker 1
Okay. Yeah. Honestly, though.

00;11;50;18 - 00;12;01;24
Speaker 3
I think this is going to be pretty cool. This is the kind of stuff. And if you think about, okay, well, if don't it's doing this and it sounds great and it will be good. It just. Well, right. We have this Remis History Month or whatever the hell.

00;12;02;14 - 00;12;04;13
Speaker 1
Why don't we if they were.

00;12;04;13 - 00;12;11;21
Speaker 3
Truly wizards of marketing and PR and all that stuff, PR stunt people.

00;12;12;07 - 00;12;13;24
Speaker 2
Oh, you're saying if playground.

00;12;13;24 - 00;12;15;11
Speaker 1
Was, if they knew what that was, we'll.

00;12;15;11 - 00;12;25;27
Speaker 3
Say yeah. If they really knew what they were doing, they would do that every month. We have a guest. Yeah. So you have the Hennigan guys one month. Oh, and then you do. Don't you know who another guy would be? Great. Is. Who is it? Chris Fix.

00;12;26;10 - 00;12;29;02
Speaker 2
Chris Fix? Yeah. This was the Hummer who always wears the helmet.

00;12;29;07 - 00;12;30;05
Speaker 3
He would be great.

00;12;30;06 - 00;12;44;11
Speaker 2
That would be brilliant. Yeah, Matt. Like, honestly, that would get people into tuning. That would get people into tuning in the game. Like, imagine if you're like, Oh, hey, because first of all, he could just wear his helmet in the game. They don't even have to face canham. So that's a win.

00;12;44;11 - 00;12;46;07
Speaker 3
Yep, that's true. Yeah, true.

00;12;46;08 - 00;13;06;29
Speaker 2
Let's work. So let's work. And then his Hummer could be in like added into the game, which would be cool because there was a an H1 Alpha open top in prior games. Right. And I think that would be a brilliant addition to Mexico is an H1 alpha open top because I don't know you're in Mexico, you might want to take the roof down.

00;13;07;19 - 00;13;12;06
Speaker 2
Plus, considering this is one of the first games that you can actually take the roof down.

00;13;13;07 - 00;13;16;10
Speaker 3
Yeah, true. I kind of forgot that was a thing. It's a really nice thing.

00;13;16;10 - 00;13;16;25
Speaker 2
But it's a nice.

00;13;16;25 - 00;13;18;09
Speaker 3
Thing. It seems like it's been around forever.

00;13;19;08 - 00;13;22;13
Speaker 2
What? What other car throttle would be good? You know, car three?

00;13;22;13 - 00;13;23;11
Speaker 3
I thought it would be very good.

00;13;23;17 - 00;13;36;15
Speaker 2
Because they have a V6 Miata, which is a very, very cool miata. Who buys garage. Oh what's that. That one. They, they do because there's Tavares.

00;13;36;24 - 00;13;39;21
Speaker 3
There's Jimmy would be good by the way Jimmy.

00;13;39;21 - 00;13;43;28
Speaker 2
Would be good. Who you hear in that schmoe get on that that.

00;13;43;28 - 00;13;45;09
Speaker 3
Would be going to get on working tire.

00;13;45;10 - 00;13;45;24
Speaker 2
Smoking.

00;13;45;24 - 00;13;47;11
Speaker 3
Tire. Yeah. That be good.

00;13;47;19 - 00;13;57;25
Speaker 2
That would be good. Um, what else would be good? Honestly, there's. So if, if, if playground just.

00;13;58;03 - 00;13;59;07
Speaker 3
Does 13, 20.

00;13;59;11 - 00;14;00;17
Speaker 2
13, 20 would be I don't.

00;14;00;17 - 00;14;04;02
Speaker 3
Know if they really have like a personality per se, but like somebody from that would be good.

00;14;04;03 - 00;14;05;07
Speaker 2
Daly Driven exotics.

00;14;05;28 - 00;14;09;00
Speaker 3
Yeah. I don't care for them too much, but they'd be great.

00;14;09;00 - 00;14;09;24
Speaker 2
They still.

00;14;09;25 - 00;14;11;16
Speaker 3
They'd be good. Jay Leno would be unreal.

00;14;11;16 - 00;14;17;03
Speaker 2
By the way. Jay Leno would be. I don't know if you don't really do it. I don't think they I don't think playground games would be able to pay them enough.

00;14;17;25 - 00;14;28;23
Speaker 3
I don't know if he cares. They need do something with Top Gear or didn't he wasn't he didn't have something to do with one of the first games at one point they need a voiceover. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm wrong.

00;14;29;05 - 00;14;32;28
Speaker 2
I don't know if he did. Maybe I know he was in the Cars movie.

00;14;33;25 - 00;14;37;03
Speaker 3
Yeah, that's what I mean. Like, I feel like he would do stuff like that. I don't know.

00;14;37;04 - 00;14;51;18
Speaker 2
I think. I think honestly, if if playground games just decided, hey, you know what, every single month what we're going to do is we're going to get some some automotive YouTubers and we're going to, you know, promote their channel, even if it's a smaller stuff, even if it's.

00;14;51;18 - 00;14;52;09
Speaker 3
Yeah, like.

00;14;52;10 - 00;14;54;04
Speaker 2
Movies, garage or.

00;14;54;27 - 00;14;55;28
Speaker 3
I think smoking tires, a.

00;14;55;28 - 00;14;56;21
Speaker 2
Smoking tire.

00;14;56;24 - 00;14;58;05
Speaker 3
I think that's a slam rate.

00;14;58;05 - 00;15;01;19
Speaker 2
That would be a slam dunk because Smoking Tiger has a podcast. There you.

00;15;01;19 - 00;15;21;00
Speaker 3
Go. Yeah, I think it's perfect. That's good product. It's just a good way to, like, keep people entertained and to, like, validate the game as yeah, trendy. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like it's, it's a form of influencer marketing really is what it is, but you're not even really doing that like necessarily. You're just keeping people like us, you know, them entertain.

00;15;21;00 - 00;15;26;10
Speaker 3
It's like that. You're going to go through all this world to create the story of this remis month or whatever, a month of crap.

00;15;27;05 - 00;15;28;23
Speaker 1
Just bring these guys in who.

00;15;28;23 - 00;15;41;00
Speaker 3
Can lend their voices and their personalities and make it more interesting. Because we don't care about the characters. No. So let's bring some real people in. Yeah. And you can keep the same concept of these little add on missions that really don't mean that much.

00;15;41;01 - 00;15;41;18
Speaker 2
Exactly.

00;15;41;22 - 00;15;43;23
Speaker 3
But you make the story actually interesting even.

00;15;43;23 - 00;15;58;00
Speaker 2
More so much more inclined to do a full 12 missions story with Chris Fix or smoking tire or even delivery pipes. You get Jacob in your free pipes of the right rate.

00;15;58;01 - 00;16;16;05
Speaker 3
Those guys are an ogre. That's true. Um, like, get drivers and, like, they did that in motorsport. Remember, they had like, different drivers. Yeah. Like, that was really cool too. I liked when you have a guy like Tanner Foust talking about his car. Yeah, I think they had Ryan Hunter-Reay talk a little bit one time or there's a couple of the Indy guys.

00;16;16;11 - 00;16;18;06
Speaker 2
Yeah, but it was all NASCAR guys. Yeah, it.

00;16;18;06 - 00;16;19;03
Speaker 3
Was great, man.

00;16;19;05 - 00;16;19;12
Speaker 2
Yeah.

00;16;19;21 - 00;16;22;23
Speaker 3
Jeff Gordon or Jimmy Johnson talk or something. One of those two? Yeah.

00;16;22;24 - 00;16;24;10
Speaker 2
Or both. Honestly, I wouldn't be.

00;16;24;14 - 00;16;32;13
Speaker 3
But that was a good idea. This is like we'll go back to it and we won't spend ironically too much time on force this week is there isn't too much to talk about.

00;16;32;23 - 00;16;40;04
Speaker 1
But it just goes to show you this is something they already kind of did with motorsport.

00;16;40;08 - 00;17;07;12
Speaker 3
Yeah it's definitely two different teams and it shows like obviously is right. Yeah. As far as turn ten and playground goes, we didn't really know just how far that went as far as maybe their marketing and what you see like obviously their dev team is different. Yeah, but their philosophy is also very different. It's unfortunate. It's unfortunate because I think turn ten, their philosophy would work even better for Horizon and it would fix a lot of the things we get pissed off about.

00;17;07;12 - 00;17;29;19
Speaker 2
It would. And you know, playground is trying to market Forza horizon to a younger group and yeah, I don't know what you guys do when you're younger, but when when I was younger and I wanted to know about cars, I would youtube the shit out of things. Like I would go through YouTube. Yeah. And watch video after video after video.

00;17;29;23 - 00;17;51;16
Speaker 2
You got top gear, you got smoking tire, you got Chris Fix, you got all these all of these car YouTube channels, automotive YouTube channels that basically give you the knowledge that you're looking for or you're just there for a good time because they're entertaining to watch. So why not bring them in? Because people are still watching them, obviously.

00;17;51;16 - 00;17;55;25
Speaker 2
Yeah, they're still making YouTube videos, so why not just bring them into the game?

00;17;55;25 - 00;18;14;25
Speaker 3
Bring them in, man. Bring them. Yeah, I know. And I think the big thing for me, really, if you had to pick one reason of like, okay, well, why does this make a difference? I think it's just that's the missing component of how do you care about the characters in the game? Yeah. You make a connection. Yeah. And you make, you know, you just basically continue a connection that already exists with a lot of people.

00;18;14;28 - 00;18;30;03
Speaker 3
Yeah. And if you don't know who all these guys are that we mentioned, I have a feeling it'd be really easy to establish that because they're likable guys, they're funny guys. Instead of having some I don't even remember. The more I say it, the less I remember the Raimi's month of nonsense.

00;18;30;03 - 00;18;34;03
Speaker 1
Okay. I don't even know. I have a question for you. Yeah, I can't even remember a scene with them.

00;18;34;04 - 00;18;40;00
Speaker 2
I have a question for you. Name three characters from Forza Horizon three.

00;18;40;00 - 00;18;40;24
Speaker 3
Oh, my God.

00;18;40;24 - 00;18;42;24
Speaker 2
Name three characters from Forza Horizon three.

00;18;43;21 - 00;18;45;07
Speaker 3
Excluding this Raimi character?

00;18;45;11 - 00;18;46;14
Speaker 2
No. No. Horizon three.

00;18;46;23 - 00;18;47;20
Speaker 3
Or Ryzen three or.

00;18;47;20 - 00;18;55;02
Speaker 2
Ryzen 300. Horizon three. Name three characters from Horizon three. Because you and I both agree that Horizon three was a really good game.

00;18;56;11 - 00;18;57;08
Speaker 3
Yeah, it was.

00;18;58;05 - 00;19;02;07
Speaker 2
You can't do it. No. Name three characters from Horizon two schtick.

00;19;02;07 - 00;19;05;10
Speaker 3
I actually. Really. What's the point of my name.

00;19;05;10 - 00;19;06;22
Speaker 2
Three characters from Horizon one.

00;19;08;09 - 00;19;10;18
Speaker 3
Oh, Doc from doctor.

00;19;10;24 - 00;19;11;00
Speaker 2
There you.

00;19;11;00 - 00;19;15;24
Speaker 3
Go. Okay. Uh, Alison Harte. Yep.

00;19;15;24 - 00;19;17;14
Speaker 2
There you go. Yeah, I'm.

00;19;17;14 - 00;19;18;27
Speaker 3
Trying to avoid the radio people.

00;19;18;27 - 00;19;19;08
Speaker 2
Yeah.

00;19;19;10 - 00;19;29;08
Speaker 3
Um, and what's the stupid many drivers name that I can't remember right now? It's something dumb there is Flint. There you.

00;19;29;08 - 00;19;33;22
Speaker 2
Go. Can you name another one? Because there's a couple.

00;19;34;11 - 00;19;36;13
Speaker 3
You can name them right now. I can't.

00;19;36;13 - 00;19;37;22
Speaker 2
I'm thinking of Crash, Max.

00;19;37;27 - 00;19;38;22
Speaker 3
Crash Max.

00;19;38;22 - 00;19;40;09
Speaker 2
Yeah, because that guy was a lunatic.

00;19;40;19 - 00;19;42;08
Speaker 3
Yeah, he was portrayed as a nut bar.

00;19;42;08 - 00;20;02;07
Speaker 2
That's, um, I can't remember the name, but, you know, when you first pull into the Horizon Festival and you pull into DAX garage because you have to get your car checked. Yeah. And the guy has his cell 65 black series there. Yeah. And the guy's like, I don't know what you're like, DAX. Like, I don't know what you're doing in this car, but you don't know you young kids don't know that don't work on something.

00;20;02;23 - 00;20;08;06
Speaker 2
And he's got some whatever accents and he's just like, I'm going to destroy you on the racetrack.

00;20;08;10 - 00;20;11;02
Speaker 3
Yeah, I can't remember either kind of. There's a couple characters like that.

00;20;11;02 - 00;20;20;22
Speaker 2
That's the thing. That's exactly the point that I'm trying to make. They. They know how to make memorable characters. Yeah, they just haven't done it in a long time.

00;20;20;24 - 00;20;38;20
Speaker 3
Do you think because the first time they did Horizon, it was obviously such a different game, the first one versus everything else. Yeah, and I really want to just button quick and say we try not to make every single show about Forza Horizon one, but anyways, it always seems to happen. Do you think it was such a departure?

00;20;38;20 - 00;20;44;29
Speaker 3
Like looking back from everything else? Do you think Baby Turn ten had way more of a hand in that? Then I.

00;20;44;29 - 00;20;45;13
Speaker 2
Wouldn't be.

00;20;45;19 - 00;20;50;18
Speaker 3
You know what I mean? Because like, playground wasn't what it is now. Playgrounds insane now, right? As far as like and they're making.

00;20;50;18 - 00;20;51;21
Speaker 2
A building just horizon.

00;20;51;24 - 00;21;03;01
Speaker 3
Exactly like it's an office. Like, it's huge. So I wonder if turn ten just had like a bigger hand and that was more of their vision for everything. And then Playground just kind of ran with what they got really good feedback on. Yeah.

00;21;04;10 - 00;21;08;16
Speaker 2
I mean, Playground probably has the whole rainbow color of hair in the office right now.

00;21;08;16 - 00;21;09;06
Speaker 3
Pretty much.

00;21;09;09 - 00;21;09;19
Speaker 2
Yeah.

00;21;10;20 - 00;21;12;15
Speaker 1
I don't. I don't know, man.

00;21;13;14 - 00;21;29;15
Speaker 3
I don't, I don't know what happened along the way. You go from making such a interesting game like that. That has a variety of characters because let's be honest, we hadn't seen that since. But yeah, going back to the original point, I think it would be really interesting. I have the donut guys in there. I can't remember a time when there's been somebody like that in a Horizon game.

00;21;29;15 - 00;21;31;09
Speaker 3
A real person. Like a real.

00;21;31;09 - 00;21;31;24
Speaker 2
Person.

00;21;31;24 - 00;21;33;07
Speaker 3
I don't think it's been done.

00;21;33;08 - 00;21;33;28
Speaker 2
No, I don't think so.

00;21;33;28 - 00;21;49;20
Speaker 3
So that would be a bit of a milestone, a bit of a moment here for the series. Yeah. And I think it could be hopefully if they're as smart as I would hope they are, probably a sign of things to come later on. And maybe in Forza Horizon six. Yeah, maybe. This is something that's a bit of a pilot project.

00;21;49;20 - 00;21;50;00
Speaker 3
Yeah.

00;21;50;04 - 00;22;11;18
Speaker 2
So if it I said I would hope I if it helps I will play that story over and over and there's some sort of counter over again. Yeah. Like if it, if, if playground is watching how often this story gets played and if it does well they're going to bring more people in like this. I will play it hundreds of times.

00;22;11;20 - 00;22;21;24
Speaker 2
Right. Geography tribute to that. Because if if that's all they need, if that's all they need is that bump to get this going. I'll do it. I will 100% do it.

00;22;22;01 - 00;22;22;10
Speaker 3
Yeah.

00;22;22;23 - 00;22;27;20
Speaker 2
I will take a week off of work and consistently play this this story.

00;22;27;26 - 00;22;34;04
Speaker 3
Yeah. And I'm with you. It's a Jesus. It's a big, big step in the right direction.

00;22;34;18 - 00;22;35;03
Speaker 2
Sprinkler.

00;22;35;08 - 00;22;40;06
Speaker 3
Yeah, it's a sprinkler hitting. Hitting their shed. It's been doing that for me since I've been here.

00;22;40;06 - 00;22;41;02
Speaker 2
But that's hilarious.

00;22;41;07 - 00;22;44;00
Speaker 1
Um, okay, so let's. Let's move away.

00;22;44;00 - 00;22;49;15
Speaker 2
From. Let's move away from Forza. I think we got our, our good for Phil.

00;22;49;23 - 00;22;51;28
Speaker 3
Yeah. And we've got.

00;22;53;02 - 00;22;53;21
Speaker 2
We have a lot.

00;22;53;27 - 00;22;55;27
Speaker 3
Of, a lot of stuff to talk about. I kind of need needed.

00;22;55;27 - 00;22;56;11
Speaker 1
Definitely in.

00;22;56;11 - 00;22;58;22
Speaker 2
Motorsport. Specifically in motorsport. Yeah.

00;22;59;14 - 00;23;01;17
Speaker 1
Well, there's kind of a lot.

00;23;01;18 - 00;23;07;06
Speaker 2
Going on in the automotive community. There has been Guenther works released their 93 turbo version.

00;23;07;06 - 00;23;20;25
Speaker 3
I really got his own in here like we haven't done a show in a little bit. I really got to like focus and I got to get fired up. I've got a beer here. We've got this beautiful passion fruit punch beer, which I've been saving for a bit, but so it's just got me.

00;23;20;25 - 00;23;27;18
Speaker 2
To get you fired up. Do you want to kind of switch gears and move into one of our segments?

00;23;27;26 - 00;23;34;22
Speaker 3
Yeah, like, you know, I'm just thinking I got some stuff to complain about. I got some stuff to get off my chest. It's been a couple of weeks. All right. And you, the.

00;23;34;22 - 00;23;38;17
Speaker 2
Music and welcome to Jasons complain.

00;23;38;18 - 00;23;39;12
Speaker 3
Like we never left.

00;23;39;12 - 00;23;40;11
Speaker 2
Okay? Like we never left.

00;23;40;11 - 00;23;43;28
Speaker 3
So. Oh, Jesus, I.

00;23;44;12 - 00;23;46;03
Speaker 1
Hate, hate, hate.

00;23;46;03 - 00;23;49;21
Speaker 3
Hate service departments at dealerships.

00;23;50;12 - 00;23;53;02
Speaker 1
Oh, my God. Aaron, I have been having.

00;23;53;02 - 00;23;54;23
Speaker 3
Such a time over the past couple of weeks, the.

00;23;54;23 - 00;23;55;12
Speaker 1
Stupid.

00;23;55;12 - 00;23;55;28
Speaker 3
Card site.

00;23;55;28 - 00;23;56;21
Speaker 1
Not the Mercedes.

00;23;57;00 - 00;24;09;20
Speaker 3
Not the Mercedes. Although it has seen its fair share of the dealerships this year getting the tires changed and whatnot. But God damn it, it has been an ordeal. Dude, five weeks to get the Cadillac back for a two day job.

00;24;09;20 - 00;24;27;19
Speaker 1
Five, five weeks and two days. So that was brutal. And they didn't even fix everything. I hate it, dude. I hate the whole time. I wait this whole time to get the stupid car fixed. I come back to like, Oh, yeah, by the way, we didn't put the sunroof in because we didn't know how. It's a Cadillac dealer, by the way, dude, it's the actual dealer service department.

00;24;27;25 - 00;24;32;27
Speaker 1
They should have the rubric, they should have the IKEA instructions laying around somewhere with the part number.

00;24;32;27 - 00;24;36;28
Speaker 2
So that's like one of those. You go to the library and you see Cadillac Sunroof for Dummies.

00;24;36;29 - 00;24;49;04
Speaker 3
Oh, I don't know, man. I don't know. All I know is I wait forever. This for the stupid car to get fixed. Nothing was even done on it. This whole time. I got it back. Oh, yeah. We didn't do this. Oh, yeah. You're lucky it's still broken. Oh, yeah. Your car still looks like a computer mouse.

00;24;49;14 - 00;24;51;07
Speaker 1
I think. God dammit, no.

00;24;51;07 - 00;24;52;09
Speaker 2
Matter what they do, they can't fix.

00;24;52;09 - 00;25;13;06
Speaker 1
That. No. Well, that part. But I mean, in the waxed all the plastic trim on my car like all the plastic collecting, they they're like, it'll be all right. Originally, they're like, It'll be $800. I get it back and they go, All right, so that'll be 29, 50. I'm like, What the fuck? So I'm arguing with this guy.

00;25;13;09 - 00;25;27;06
Speaker 1
I don't even remember this guy's name. It was something stupid, like parents or something. And I'm arguing with this guy and I'm like, Dude, I don't even have I have to call my bank to get this approved. I wasn't expecting that. My car is not going to let me like I have to sit on hold for 15 minutes.

00;25;27;06 - 00;25;42;24
Speaker 1
Yeah. Going through all this crap of expensive. Oh, my God. Why is it so much more? And the guy looks at me straight in the eye as he goes. Well, I don't know what you're complaining about. We waxed it for you, and I looked back at it, and the whole entirety of my plastic trim on the left side is white.

00;25;43;13 - 00;26;02;03
Speaker 1
The black plastic trim is white is white. Yeah. I'm like, What the hell is that? You know, you can see it. So we started at the front and then he went to the back and you can see where the guy went. Oh, and it's just towards the back. You can see it just lifts up and then the other side's fine, you know, the other side is the guy easily waxed and was like, Hmm, maybe I shouldn't be doing this.

00;26;02;05 - 00;26;14;07
Speaker 1
Oh my. So I have had, I still don't have it all off. I've been sitting there criss cross applesauce trying to get the script off the side of my car. I can't. And I have to pay a premium for it for these idiots. And tomorrow, to make matters worse, at about.

00;26;14;07 - 00;26;22;14
Speaker 3
730, I got to drive all the way to London. I drove an hour and they got to put in the actual waiters in the pumps for everything for my tailgate, because.

00;26;22;14 - 00;26;23;17
Speaker 1
My tailgate doesn't.

00;26;23;17 - 00;26;24;19
Speaker 3
Open on my SUV.

00;26;24;25 - 00;26;32;27
Speaker 1
So I have hockey sticks in my driver's side, then throw it in the back like a sack of potatoes. Horrible, horrible. I hate dealing with the.

00;26;32;27 - 00;26;43;12
Speaker 3
Dealerships, man. I really like dealing with Porsche. Actually. I take the Benz there because I don't really like dealing with Mercedes that much either. Porsche is great around here. I don't know about other places, but even in our town.

00;26;43;14 - 00;26;47;28
Speaker 1
Oh, we have a place called Stern. You'll find cars which just sells anything.

00;26;47;28 - 00;26;50;27
Speaker 3
That is foreign to somehow. Fine cars.

00;26;50;27 - 00;26;54;05
Speaker 2
Yeah, well, fine cars. Sun gross does.

00;26;54;06 - 00;26;55;09
Speaker 3
I want to front this luxury.

00;26;55;09 - 00;27;14;24
Speaker 2
Yeah. Did I tell you about the ordeal that I had with. With my car there? I don't think so. So basically, what happened? I took my car in to get an oil change because I was like, you know what? I don't have the proper tools to reset the computer in my car to do the oil change because BMW is a pain in the ass.

00;27;14;24 - 00;27;24;21
Speaker 3
Yeah, cause you can't even reset the inner interval yourself. Like in the Benz. I can actually go in and it's just a sequence of buttons. Nope. I think yours. You don't even have that option. I don't need a special tool.

00;27;24;21 - 00;27;42;19
Speaker 2
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So because I tried. I tried to do it because I tried to see. Oh, can I just do this myself? No, I can't. So I went to the dealership to get an oil change done. And this was like recently after I put my winter tires on and it was driving fine and they're like, Hey, we would recommend an alignment.

00;27;42;19 - 00;27;56;20
Speaker 2
I was like, Okay, perfect. Do you know how long this is going to be? Like, I should be done. By the end of the day. I called and I was like, Hey, is my car ready? And they're like, No, it's going to be ready tomorrow morning. It's like, Okay, so I have no way to get home from work right now.

00;27;56;20 - 00;28;20;11
Speaker 2
The busses are terrible in Sarnia, so I get to work the next day. The Sarnia fight cars ends up calling myself and says, Hey, your car's ready. However, there's an engine light on. Okay, so when I drop a new engine. A new engine light, there wasn't there wasn't an engine light on before because it was just an oil change.

00;28;21;01 - 00;28;33;25
Speaker 2
They say, hey, there's an engine light on. I was like, okay, well, why is there an engine light on there? Like, well, we we're not too sure. Well, what do you mean, like, what do you mean you're not too surely you guys cause this engine, like, you're like, no, this engine light was here when he dropped it off.

00;28;33;25 - 00;28;49;26
Speaker 2
And I was like, well, it wasn't there when you called me yesterday about the alignment. And they're like, Oh, well, it was there. And I said, Well, why didn't you tell me? Like we forgot about it. I was like, Okay. So they're like, Oh, yeah, we got to charge you 2 hours of labor, so it's going to be $300 for the diagnostic.

00;28;50;19 - 00;29;12;03
Speaker 2
So I told him to pound sand. I took my car back and it had a drive train malfunction. I had 30% power and I had no idea what was going on. So I ended up taking it to Jay's shop and we scanned it and it came up with the code saying something about the transmission or whatever it was.

00;29;12;15 - 00;29;29;20
Speaker 2
I called BMW London brilliant dealership, by the way, hundred percent recommend. And I called them with the code and I was like, Hey, this is the code. Do you know what's going on? And they said, Did you recently take it for service? And I said, yes. And they said, Did they wash the inside of your car out? I said, yes.

00;29;29;28 - 00;29;49;23
Speaker 2
And they left and said, You know what happened? The basically broke the inside of your car with the throttle pedal because there's a sensor inside the throttle pedal because it's electric. And we have like we have this happen all the time. So they ended up ordering apart from Toronto and I paid for it and it took what, 15 minutes to install.

00;29;50;07 - 00;29;51;24
Speaker 1
Oh that's when we did that. Yeah, we did.

00;29;51;24 - 00;29;54;11
Speaker 3
That literally just the pedal. Yeah. So it's two screws.

00;29;54;11 - 00;30;06;25
Speaker 2
Two screws and a clip. That was it. Easy. And they wanted to charge me $300 for a diagnostic. And the London dealership knew exactly what it was from the code and they knew the whole situation.

00;30;06;25 - 00;30;08;10
Speaker 3
Yeah, that's crazy, man. Over the phone.

00;30;08;10 - 00;30;31;06
Speaker 2
Over the phone. Yeah, over the phone. So I. Yeah, certain service sides of dealerships are terrible. There are some dealerships that are really good. I've worked at quite a few dealerships. Some are really good, some are terrible. If it benefits, if you know someone that works at that dealership, I do notice that, but I agree. So now that you're fired up.

00;30;31;06 - 00;30;39;20
Speaker 2
Jason Mm. You want to get into motorsport or do you want to get to kind of like more car news kind of thing? Well, it just happened, I think.

00;30;39;20 - 00;30;56;09
Speaker 3
Well, mix it. Yeah, because I mean, we've got the car news, we've got the motorsport news. I mean, we'll start off with some F1 because that's really what's been bumping. I mean, hello Audi. Oh, good to see you. I mean, Alfa Romeo actually I should say first. So Alfa is done end of next season. That's kind of a big one.

00;30;56;21 - 00;31;16;15
Speaker 3
Yeah. They're done done. So they're partnered with sober and these be you know some are BMW. Yep and sounds like they're just out it kind of makes sense. I mean, Alfa is not like a King Top brand. I know Fiat, Chrysler, all that, but it just never really seemed to make that much sense for them. I think they got what they wanted out of it.

00;31;16;15 - 00;31;28;12
Speaker 3
They got the brand recognition a little bit more prestige makes sense. It's expensive. They weren't really doing well. I get it. So then you got Audi, right? So Audi saying they're going to come in in 2026 and they could be partnering with somebody by the end of this year.

00;31;28;19 - 00;31;28;26
Speaker 2
Okay.

00;31;29;01 - 00;31;42;04
Speaker 3
Hello. Who doesn't have a partner? Alfa. I mean, it's either that or horse and I can't really see horse doing that. It just doesn't really like the partnership doesn't make as much sense. Well, it's an American team. You might as well partner with somebody.

00;31;42;04 - 00;31;44;19
Speaker 2
With a German name horse.

00;31;44;19 - 00;31;51;07
Speaker 3
It is, but they're located in North Carolina. South Carolina riding on a horse horse. So it makes more sense.

00;31;51;17 - 00;31;53;10
Speaker 2
To you see a partner partnering with.

00;31;53;10 - 00;32;14;12
Speaker 3
Horse. Yeah, it rolls off the tongue, but also Alberta as well I guess. True. So sober. I mean there are going to be without a partner. It just kind of seems to make sense that they go in that direction. And I would imagine that they completely take over just in time for Porsche to join with them. I think we see it Audi Porsche tandem in 2026 makes new sense of the new regs.

00;32;15;00 - 00;32;21;16
Speaker 3
I just I don't understand why you'd want to have two of your brands competing with each other. It's true. Eventually they'll find a way to make that happen. So.

00;32;21;19 - 00;32;27;06
Speaker 2
So is it Porsche's coming into Formula One? We know that, yeah. Do you know when.

00;32;27;25 - 00;32;31;26
Speaker 3
They partner with Red Bull next year or the year after? I think it's next year.

00;32;32;08 - 00;32;38;03
Speaker 2
And are they like a sponsor or are they producing parts of the vehicle?

00;32;38;14 - 00;32;54;21
Speaker 3
Uh, it's because I remember how Aston Martin is right now. Or they don't actually produce the engine. Okay, like it's I think it's a Ferrari engine, right? I think it's Mercedes engine. Sorry. Is it okay? And that's just kind of how it is, how they like do everything else and they fund it and they own it and it's their team.

00;32;54;21 - 00;32;57;13
Speaker 3
But the all the components come from elsewhere, right.

00;32;57;16 - 00;33;01;09
Speaker 2
Yeah. Cause I remember last time Porsche tried to make a Formula One engine, and it didn't.

00;33;01;14 - 00;33;06;21
Speaker 3
It did not go to plan. Nobody will say no, it did not go well. So anyway, so they're.

00;33;06;21 - 00;33;08;07
Speaker 2
Really making lemons, cars.

00;33;08;07 - 00;33;17;28
Speaker 3
They're very good at making the most cars. And speaking of which, Audi is ending effective immediately their MDH program really that's done. So they're not.

00;33;18;02 - 00;33;18;27
Speaker 2
Just going to be Porsche.

00;33;19;12 - 00;33;37;16
Speaker 3
Yeah, which probably makes more sense anyways, but it's a little disappointing. I mean, given Audi pedigree and endurance racing, it kind of sucks and racing in general, honestly. Yeah, but it just sucks that, you know, that's already toast. But I mean, hey, they got to fund it somehow and it's expensive and I mean, Audi, eight Porsche, let's be honest.

00;33;37;16 - 00;33;38;19
Speaker 2
So yeah, that's true.

00;33;39;01 - 00;33;39;17
Speaker 1
Whatever.

00;33;40;07 - 00;33;44;10
Speaker 3
So that's something that was going on. Daniel Ricciardo. Daniel Ricciardo.

00;33;44;10 - 00;33;46;21
Speaker 2
Yes. The $21 million deal.

00;33;47;00 - 00;33;53;18
Speaker 3
At McLaren got paid to not race there, which is unreal. 21 Shamal, keep the change.

00;33;53;20 - 00;33;58;06
Speaker 2
Yeah. You think you would pass that down? No, no, Don.

00;33;58;07 - 00;34;20;02
Speaker 3
I'll race all races. Williams for a little bit. I'm set for life, man. Yeah, so, I mean, that's great. You've got the whole drama with Fernando Alonso. This is probably about a week old at this point, but Nando decides I'm not going to go with Alpine or Alpine. I'm going to go with the glorious and my glorious I mean, absolute dog water.

00;34;20;17 - 00;34;30;17
Speaker 3
Aston Martin. Yeah, because my favorite driver, Sebastian Vettel, is done. He's out. He's had decided had enough not really that shocked I mean it was he's been.

00;34;30;17 - 00;34;34;01
Speaker 2
At it for a while though for a bit. 15 years.

00;34;34;02 - 00;34;53;27
Speaker 3
Maybe. Yeah, it's a long time and I mean when you're toiling at the bottom of the standings like that and there's no like Aston's not going to be good any time soon. And it's a little bit unfortunate because that's kind of my team. But whatever. So I mean, he's out his sights, he's done. Alonso hops there. Then you got Piastri who Alpine says, Yep, he'll be racing for us next year and he goes.

00;34;53;28 - 00;34;55;15
Speaker 1
Ah, boo boo. No chance.

00;34;55;24 - 00;35;15;05
Speaker 3
He signed with McLaren. Then you got Ricardo with nowhere to go. Yeah. Riccardo, still at this time of recording, is undecided on where he's going to end up. So that's a whole bunch of drama. I mean, Otmar Schnauzer, whatever the hell his name is with Alpine. I mean, he's just been thrown a lot of shade in multiple people's directions.

00;35;15;19 - 00;35;25;23
Speaker 3
I don't know. Pierre Gasly could be on the move. So, I mean, as far as F1, lots of drama there, I mean, there's a trickle down effect and to endurance racing NASCAR playoffs start next week.

00;35;25;23 - 00;35;26;01
Speaker 2
Yep.

00;35;26;11 - 00;35;29;02
Speaker 3
The road course and road course racing has been great.

00;35;30;18 - 00;35;32;00
Speaker 2
The 20 series has been going good.

00;35;32;00 - 00;35;38;15
Speaker 3
Yes. Kimi Raikkonen had a great drive in NASCAR until he was spun out by idiot Ross Chastain.

00;35;38;23 - 00;35;43;28
Speaker 1
Oh, guy was running fucking P6 in a 37 car field.

00;35;43;28 - 00;35;45;29
Speaker 3
On a road course at Watkins, actually.

00;35;46;00 - 00;35;46;09
Speaker 2
Okay.

00;35;46;13 - 00;35;48;01
Speaker 3
Okay. And then he got spun by this.

00;35;48;01 - 00;35;49;00
Speaker 1
Absolute schmuck.

00;35;49;04 - 00;35;59;02
Speaker 3
Who six races in a row, this guy has caused an accident that for somebody to retire or you guys area Chastain a fucking idiot man. I'm so sick of this guy. Every week with this idiot.

00;35;59;17 - 00;36;02;16
Speaker 1
He sighs and he goes, in action is an accident. He's such a.

00;36;02;16 - 00;36;12;28
Speaker 3
Schmuck. And it was his teammate to actually reckon in that weekend was his teammate, which is even worse. Well, so I'm rambling, but I'm trying to get through it because there has been just an absolute ton of stuff.

00;36;12;28 - 00;36;16;13
Speaker 2
I do kind of want to stick with Audi because don't know if you saw.

00;36;16;13 - 00;36;17;27
Speaker 3
But there is more Audi stuff.

00;36;18;05 - 00;36;48;13
Speaker 2
There is more Audi stuff to talk about. So. Ken BLOCK, we're kind of changing gears a little bit. Ken BLOCK Move from Ford to Audi and Audi slash Porsche because there's the 930 turbo unicorn thing. That's just it looks insane. It's kind of got the pink pig. It's crazy livery on it. But the Audi ended up building an electric.

00;36;49;22 - 00;37;00;07
Speaker 2
It's called the June E-Tron because the E-Tron and E-Tron whatever. And it kind of looks like a modernized electric version of the Audi S1 Quattro from the eighties.

00;37;00;23 - 00;37;04;08
Speaker 3
Yeah. Yeah, it's it's definitely more than an homage.

00;37;04;08 - 00;37;05;06
Speaker 2
Yes. Oh yeah, yeah.

00;37;05;07 - 00;37;07;06
Speaker 3
Very inspired. Yeah, yeah.

00;37;07;14 - 00;37;27;08
Speaker 2
But it looks great. It looks really good. They did a really good job. So I don't know if that's actually, you know, I don't know if it was just like a one off thing that they're like, Hey, look at this, we can do this. If Kim BLOCK ends up actually, you know, spinning that thing around city streets, I'm going to be very interested in watching it.

00;37;27;08 - 00;37;42;28
Speaker 2
But, uh, yeah, I think if, if he does a gymkhana with that electric Audi, that's going to be really cool again, kind of sticking with Porsche Monterey Car Week happened and in case you missed the Instagram post.

00;37;43;07 - 00;37;46;21
Speaker 1
The Sally special the courier.

00;37;46;26 - 00;37;48;10
Speaker 2
Yes. Sally special.

00;37;48;10 - 00;37;48;18
Speaker 3
Yeah.

00;37;48;28 - 00;37;49;21
Speaker 1
Sold at.

00;37;49;21 - 00;37;51;11
Speaker 2
Auction for.

00;37;51;26 - 00;37;52;00
Speaker 1
A.

00;37;52;24 - 00;37;53;27
Speaker 3
Drum roll. Drum roll.

00;37;54;08 - 00;37;57;19
Speaker 2
$3.6 million.

00;37;57;19 - 00;37;59;17
Speaker 3
Also known as way too much goddamn money.

00;37;59;18 - 00;38;01;07
Speaker 2
Way too much goddamn money.

00;38;01;07 - 00;38;02;24
Speaker 1
Odd for a career it.

00;38;02;24 - 00;38;03;22
Speaker 2
Gets.

00;38;04;09 - 00;38;06;17
Speaker 1
Yeah, yeah. Like it's, it's.

00;38;06;17 - 00;38;12;22
Speaker 2
Not a GT3 RS It's not a GT2 RS It's not a high performance Porsche.

00;38;12;23 - 00;38;14;01
Speaker 3
It is pure novelty.

00;38;14;02 - 00;38;20;22
Speaker 2
It is pure novelty. It's not even a heritage edition. Yeah, okay. It's one of one. They got some super cool interior.

00;38;20;25 - 00;38;21;14
Speaker 1
Yeah, yeah.

00;38;21;26 - 00;38;26;14
Speaker 2
It's got a special paint, it's got a special plaque, but it's never going to be driven.

00;38;27;24 - 00;38;30;00
Speaker 1
No, it's, it, it's from the last time.

00;38;30;00 - 00;38;32;14
Speaker 3
A lot of people will see it be seen very much. It won't.

00;38;32;14 - 00;38;43;11
Speaker 2
Be seen at all because whoever spends $3.6 million on a Carrera Gt's obviously has at least 20 other cars in their.

00;38;43;11 - 00;38;47;08
Speaker 3
Collection. Oh, yeah, at least that car like you bought that for the meme. He did.

00;38;47;14 - 00;38;47;27
Speaker 2
He did.

00;38;47;28 - 00;38;49;07
Speaker 1
Yeah. Or whoever.

00;38;49;24 - 00;38;55;26
Speaker 3
Whoever bought it, it's an event it or J type thing where you're going to see it once every three years probably. And that's it. And it won't be on the road.

00;38;56;03 - 00;38;59;22
Speaker 2
Yeah. And if you see it on the road, everyone's going to lose their mind and be like, Oh my.

00;38;59;22 - 00;39;00;28
Speaker 1
God, oh my God. Yeah.

00;39;01;00 - 00;39;05;27
Speaker 3
Would be curious to see if there's any shots of that thing roaming around Monaco or something like that in the future. It'd be pretty interesting.

00;39;05;27 - 00;39;07;10
Speaker 1
Yeah, but it's still the.

00;39;07;12 - 00;39;12;05
Speaker 2
Thing is it's it's a blue 911 Carrera.

00;39;12;26 - 00;39;14;08
Speaker 3
With some trims and a trims.

00;39;14;08 - 00;39;18;28
Speaker 2
Trims a tramp stamp and some it's granted the wheels are really cool.

00;39;19;10 - 00;39;20;19
Speaker 1
Yeah I'll say that the wheels.

00;39;20;24 - 00;39;21;15
Speaker 3
Standard wheel.

00;39;21;15 - 00;39;22;15
Speaker 2
The wheels are really cool.

00;39;23;14 - 00;39;23;25
Speaker 3
But.

00;39;24;19 - 00;39;48;24
Speaker 2
For, for what it is, if you spend $3.6 million on it and if you drive it around, if you don't what it is, no one's going to care. No one's going to care. If you spent $3.6 million on an Aventador j, which would be understandable if you drove that around, even if you didn't know what it was, you would lose your mind.

00;39;49;21 - 00;39;51;17
Speaker 1
Yeah, because it looks insane.

00;39;51;17 - 00;39;55;12
Speaker 3
Yeah, exactly. You don't. You don't need to be in the. No, no, you don't.

00;39;55;18 - 00;39;56;13
Speaker 1
But with, with.

00;39;56;13 - 00;40;06;23
Speaker 2
The, with the Sally special, you need to be in the know because if you have no idea what that car is, you're going to look at it and you're going be like, oh, cool. It's a blue 911 kind of looks like that Sally car from the Cars movie.

00;40;06;24 - 00;40;15;28
Speaker 3
Guy put a dumb sticker on the back of it, but, yeah, it looks all right. Yeah, I wouldn't even make that. Honestly, I wouldn't even make the connection with the car. No, I like it. Don't get me wrong, I like it. I think it's cool. I think.

00;40;15;28 - 00;40;16;25
Speaker 2
I think what they did.

00;40;16;25 - 00;40;25;28
Speaker 3
I think it's for a very great cause. It is. Yeah, but I mean, it's nothing more than a tax thing. Tax write off the honest. Yeah, yeah. That was a nice little tax deal for somebody. Yeah.

00;40;26;14 - 00;40;35;13
Speaker 2
I mean, I don't like you even if you get, what, maybe five, ten, 20% back from that thing. 5% of $3.6 million.

00;40;35;13 - 00;40;37;22
Speaker 1
That's still a shit ton of money, man. Yeah.

00;40;37;29 - 00;40;41;11
Speaker 3
Big time in that kid on a car. You'll never lose a cent on.

00;40;41;11 - 00;40;53;11
Speaker 2
No, ever. So I think. Yeah. Like you said it was for, it was for good cause it's still way too much money because $3.6 million can get you so many.

00;40;53;11 - 00;41;05;22
Speaker 3
Really cool. Cool. Yeah. And that's always the argument with a lot of cars in that price bracket is, oh, you could get this, you could have 18,000 Honda Civic. What? I mean, like, yeah, it's a slippery slope.

00;41;05;22 - 00;41;10;07
Speaker 2
But in speaking about crazy expensive cars because.

00;41;10;14 - 00;41;12;03
Speaker 3
That I would rather have for that kind of money that I would.

00;41;12;03 - 00;41;38;21
Speaker 2
Rather know that kind of money. So another thing that was introduced at Monterey Car Week and I would sell a kidney and probably both of my kidneys, possibly my stomach, um, I, if I could find a way to live without my stomach, I would do it. But I would love to see in person the new CC 850 the konigsberg CC 850 yes.

00;41;38;21 - 00;41;40;11
Speaker 3
With the telephone dial wheels.

00;41;40;11 - 00;41;43;22
Speaker 2
Oh lovely Christian von Koenigsegg. I don't know.

00;41;44;02 - 00;41;46;04
Speaker 3
Whoever he's picking to hire.

00;41;46;11 - 00;41;49;19
Speaker 1
Oh, he's a wizard guy. The man is a maestro.

00;41;49;19 - 00;42;02;15
Speaker 2
I don't know what drugs he is on to come up with the ideas and the design and the this like the complex simplicity. Yeah, I'm going to say of this.

00;42;02;15 - 00;42;04;03
Speaker 3
These is a Swedish Lamborghini.

00;42;04;04 - 00;42;09;20
Speaker 1
It is. It's just so it's like what's like when Jeremy's like, why don't we just give it, like a laser?

00;42;09;20 - 00;42;11;18
Speaker 3
The different Koenigsegg is the laser works.

00;42;11;20 - 00;42;15;19
Speaker 1
Yeah, that's the difference. That's the difference. But it's the same concept.

00;42;15;19 - 00;42;17;13
Speaker 3
It's the same childish ambition.

00;42;17;27 - 00;42;19;22
Speaker 1
Machine guns that come out of the side.

00;42;19;22 - 00;42;21;21
Speaker 2
And then Christian von Koning takes like, okay.

00;42;21;21 - 00;42;26;29
Speaker 1
Yeah, sure, why not? All right, let's wire it. That's what? Some wires in it. Yeah, yeah, no, exactly.

00;42;27;12 - 00;42;44;16
Speaker 3
They got these great ideas. They do. Like it's a great homage car. Let's be real here. Oh, it's just such a lovable design. The wheels, just the body lines, even the front bumper. Some of what? The front bumper really does it for me on that car, I can't really explain. It's just not edged. Yeah. Like modern cars. It's not sharp.

00;42;44;16 - 00;42;45;12
Speaker 2
It's not soft.

00;42;45;13 - 00;42;52;24
Speaker 3
It is is soft, but aggressive. And I think that there's something to be said for modern supercars that can pull that one off. Hypercars Hypercars.

00;42;52;24 - 00;42;54;14
Speaker 2
Yes, 1300 horsepower.

00;42;54;15 - 00;42;57;09
Speaker 3
Yeah. McLaren Speedtail does similar things for me. It's very.

00;42;57;09 - 00;42;58;14
Speaker 2
Supercars, very.

00;42;58;14 - 00;43;01;03
Speaker 3
Swoopy for how aggressive it actually is. Yeah.

00;43;01;22 - 00;43;30;11
Speaker 2
The thing with the McLaren Speedtail, it's more of a modern. It is more modern. The are too heavy to open manually so they have to be opened numerically or electrically or whatever it is. You push a button and it slowly opens, which is still cool, but Teslas do that more on that later. And the Koenigsegg, first of all, the car at 50, the transmission in it, I don't know if.

00;43;30;19 - 00;43;32;27
Speaker 2
Have you done any research on the car at 50 old.

00;43;32;28 - 00;43;34;12
Speaker 3
None. Okay. None research.

00;43;34;20 - 00;43;53;15
Speaker 2
The CC 850 has a six speed manual transmission in a 1350 horsepower hypercar or it has a nine speed automatic transmission. And it's not one or the other. It's both.

00;43;54;01 - 00;43;59;20
Speaker 1
Oh, once both. So if you did see this. Yeah. You want to drive.

00;43;59;20 - 00;44;20;11
Speaker 2
It with the clutch pedal, you throw the clutch pedal in, you throw the car in first year and you drive it like a manual transmission car if you're stuck in in Monaco traffic because I was going to say Toronto traffic. But let's be real. You're not going to see one in Toronto ever if you're stuck in Monaco. Traffic and you think, you know what, this is a bit too much work.

00;44;20;11 - 00;44;38;08
Speaker 2
I'm just going to pop it in automatic. Yes, slide it down over into automatic and boom, you don't even have to touch the clutch pedal anymore. You have a nine speed, seamless automatic transmission, the same nine speed automatic transmission, the light speed transmission that is in the Yes. Go.

00;44;39;06 - 00;44;39;26
Speaker 1
Oh yeah.

00;44;40;08 - 00;44;43;01
Speaker 2
And I don't know what witchcraft.

00;44;43;05 - 00;44;47;12
Speaker 1
Yeah. That's the word that I would use come up with to have some.

00;44;47;12 - 00;44;48;10
Speaker 3
Sort of nifty boppy.

00;44;48;10 - 00;44;51;06
Speaker 1
Booster. So yeah, it is, it's like, it's like.

00;44;51;27 - 00;45;07;07
Speaker 2
What was it back in the early 2000s when I think it was Saab had that manual transmission without the clutch where you could shift the gears manually. But there was no clutch pedal. Yes. Because remember, Rich, Richard Hammond tried to drive one of those things around. He tried to back in like reverse parallel park.

00;45;07;07 - 00;45;07;22
Speaker 3
Yeah.

00;45;08;05 - 00;45;20;02
Speaker 2
A reverse uphill parallel park. You hit the car like 17 times, which was hilarious. But it's like that. But it's not like that at all. Yeah, because it's better.

00;45;20;12 - 00;45;23;02
Speaker 3
It's better. Yeah, it's works.

00;45;23;02 - 00;45;41;21
Speaker 2
It's honestly, I, I, I'm, I'm on the verge of seeing and I'm on the verge, so don't like take this with a grain of salt because I don't want to say it because a I've never driven one. B I don't think I ever will drive one. Am I okay with that. Yeah, I would still like to.

00;45;41;22 - 00;45;42;02
Speaker 3
Yeah.

00;45;42;12 - 00;45;46;25
Speaker 2
But from what I can see, Koenigsegg are getting really close to perfect.

00;45;48;17 - 00;45;49;18
Speaker 3
Yeah, I agree.

00;45;49;18 - 00;45;51;04
Speaker 2
Like, really close. Yeah, I.

00;45;51;05 - 00;45;52;14
Speaker 1
Just. I go back to the.

00;45;52;14 - 00;45;53;16
Speaker 2
Technology of them.

00;45;53;16 - 00;46;02;04
Speaker 3
Yeah, I go back to my point about it's a Lamborghini that works. Yeah. Because Lamborghini is probably got close to the best all time styling. Just shot for shot like shot for shot. It's always been.

00;46;02;04 - 00;46;03;25
Speaker 2
Real. Ghani's has been really close, not.

00;46;03;25 - 00;46;30;08
Speaker 3
Even close to, but they have the same two designs for the past 25 years. That's true. So. Koenigsberg Great designs. Functional, beautiful, practical at times. Let's be real. Yeah. Record breaking. Yeah, well engineered. Well marketed. Uh, yeah. Just about everything about their cars is pretty much perfect. Pretty much customizability the uniqueness of each car.

00;46;30;12 - 00;46;55;11
Speaker 2
And yeah, what I really like about Koenigsegg is they're not a marketing company for backpacks or for baseball caps or for fancy perfumes or anything like that. Like if you go to winners, you're going to see some, you know, Lamborghini, any parts.

00;46;55;14 - 00;47;00;23
Speaker 3
It's just Ferrari is the perfect pairing. It just it became a machine. It became a merchandise machine.

00;47;00;23 - 00;47;09;16
Speaker 2
It really did. And hunting sticks, something like that. No. If you want to find, you can't see the gear. You have to go to Sweden. Yeah, you have to go to Sweden.

00;47;09;20 - 00;47;16;16
Speaker 3
Yeah. That's it. Nobody is going to sit here or on what really. License, gear. Yeah. No, it's through them. That's, it's through them.

00;47;16;16 - 00;47;24;00
Speaker 2
That's the there's no you know, PUMAs by Koenigsegg or whatever. Yeah.

00;47;24;00 - 00;47;26;18
Speaker 3
Now I should say we can spend all day on this.

00;47;26;21 - 00;47;27;03
Speaker 2
We could.

00;47;27;03 - 00;47;31;21
Speaker 3
Yes, but I'm remembering we have like a lot of stuff to talk about it.

00;47;31;21 - 00;47;32;10
Speaker 2
Okay, well, I'm.

00;47;32;10 - 00;47;40;26
Speaker 3
Going to do a round up here. Okay. We're going to get a couple of comments. Quick fire. Okay. Rapid Fire. Yeah, it's insane when I have it in this lineage like I have here. It's okay.

00;47;41;05 - 00;47;42;11
Speaker 2
All right, first of all, let's go.

00;47;42;11 - 00;47;45;18
Speaker 3
Here's an easy one. Accurate air xos six a hybrid racecar.

00;47;45;23 - 00;47;47;17
Speaker 2
No idea what any of those MDH.

00;47;48;01 - 00;47;49;18
Speaker 3
It looks stunning.

00;47;49;21 - 00;47;50;09
Speaker 1
Oh, yeah.

00;47;50;11 - 00;47;57;11
Speaker 3
It looks crazy. It looks like a spaceship. Yeah. So they released that. It's really great to see that that program is going to keep going.

00;47;57;11 - 00;47;57;20
Speaker 2
Yeah.

00;47;58;16 - 00;48;04;21
Speaker 3
We've also got the Dodge Charger, Daytona SRT, the electric muscle car. It has a really weird sound.

00;48;05;00 - 00;48;06;08
Speaker 2
Sound more like a V ten.

00;48;07;05 - 00;48;09;21
Speaker 1
Like the kind of fake electric.

00;48;09;21 - 00;48;10;17
Speaker 2
Exhaust kind of.

00;48;10;17 - 00;48;12;17
Speaker 1
Sound room. I don't know.

00;48;12;17 - 00;48;17;04
Speaker 2
It kind of reminds of and I don't want to insult this car because it's but it kind.

00;48;17;04 - 00;48;18;10
Speaker 1
Of sounds like the LFA.

00;48;19;26 - 00;48;28;17
Speaker 3
It sounds like an LFA. If somebody had it next to you on speakerphone. Yeah. Yeah, it's exactly how I would describe it, which is crazy to think about, but it literally is.

00;48;28;17 - 00;48;30;01
Speaker 1
It's like, listen to this LFA and they.

00;48;30;01 - 00;48;32;14
Speaker 3
Hold it next to the exhaust. Yeah. On speakerphone.

00;48;32;14 - 00;48;36;29
Speaker 2
You're listening through a phone. It sounds like an LFA, but you're sitting on the other side of a Wendy's drive through.

00;48;36;29 - 00;48;39;01
Speaker 1
Yes, exactly. Yeah, exactly.

00;48;40;10 - 00;48;57;00
Speaker 3
1817 horsepower Hennessey Venom, F5 Roadster is coming out. It's going it's going into production. It is looking pretty much the same. It's stunning. Yeah, but 1817 horse is certified bananas bunny.

00;48;57;10 - 00;48;59;05
Speaker 1
That'll blow your toupee out the back.

00;48;59;05 - 00;49;00;25
Speaker 3
Of your head real quick. Yeah.

00;49;01;11 - 00;49;03;08
Speaker 2
You can't drive one of those Donald Trump screaming.

00;49;03;08 - 00;49;11;24
Speaker 3
No. So that'll be pretty crazy. We've also got the 2024 Bugatti Mistral. Yeah. There's a W16 send off. I would.

00;49;11;25 - 00;49;12;03
Speaker 2
Put.

00;49;13;04 - 00;49;14;10
Speaker 3
Pretty cool looking.

00;49;14;12 - 00;49;14;26
Speaker 2
I don't like the.

00;49;14;26 - 00;49;19;07
Speaker 3
Back of it. I agree. Yeah, it's cool looking. But at the same time I'm not a big fan of the bike.

00;49;19;14 - 00;49;20;28
Speaker 1
But I'd say it's probably a.

00;49;20;28 - 00;49;22;19
Speaker 3
Worthy send off of the W16.

00;49;22;20 - 00;49;24;22
Speaker 2
It is. I'd say it's a worthy send off.

00;49;24;22 - 00;49;26;13
Speaker 3
I would also describe it as good enough.

00;49;26;24 - 00;49;37;17
Speaker 2
Yeah, I also I also think Bugatti is getting to the point where it's like they they are at a loss of what to do because they've hit such a peak.

00;49;37;17 - 00;49;47;16
Speaker 3
Well, I would I would describe it as they've run out of ideas with that body shape. Yeah. That's it. Yeah. That, that signature Bugatti look. Well they got.

00;49;47;16 - 00;49;51;09
Speaker 2
It on was like that. The Sheeran was like that. Yeah. Like oh we're, we're going do this.

00;49;51;09 - 00;49;52;24
Speaker 3
You've got to change the lights.

00;49;52;25 - 00;49;54;21
Speaker 2
Yeah, the door.

00;49;54;21 - 00;50;00;28
Speaker 3
But it's just something new. Something new Everlane or something. I don't know what it was, but.

00;50;01;02 - 00;50;05;23
Speaker 1
They have that same sort of look. Yeah, they have that same sort of look.

00;50;07;17 - 00;50;18;22
Speaker 2
And then there was the centodieci, which was really cool. And I did like the chin to that XI because it was kind of like an AB 110 large and that was cool. That was cool.

00;50;18;24 - 00;50;19;09
Speaker 3
That was cool.

00;50;19;09 - 00;50;34;09
Speaker 2
Because a lot of them that you saw were in white. But if you have seen it in the blue, like the blue, the band blue, the B 110 or it just looks. So that was no good, but yeah, no, you're right. They're running out of out of ideas. Yeah. Next thing.

00;50;35;13 - 00;50;44;03
Speaker 3
One of my personal favorites and I think it's one that's really got buried in the headlines. Nobody's talking about this and they should be okay. McLaren Solis GTI The Vision Garcia.

00;50;44;04 - 00;50;46;09
Speaker 2
The 1000 whatever horsepower yeah.

00;50;46;13 - 00;50;47;00
Speaker 1
I don't even.

00;50;47;00 - 00;50;55;08
Speaker 3
Care if that had 35 horse that thing looks incredible. That to me is a race car right there that is like the perfect looking car in my opinion.

00;50;55;09 - 00;50;59;15
Speaker 2
You know what it kind of reminded me of when they unveiled that? Because I was kind of watching, I.

00;50;59;18 - 00;51;03;16
Speaker 3
Heard a 29 horsepower Judd engine, by the way. So you remember the old judge?

00;51;03;28 - 00;51;05;03
Speaker 1
Yeah, ten.

00;51;05;03 - 00;51;05;15
Speaker 3
Thousand.

00;51;05;15 - 00;51;05;26
Speaker 2
R.P.M..

00;51;05;26 - 00;51;06;04
Speaker 3
Right?

00;51;06;17 - 00;51;07;15
Speaker 2
What written.

00;51;07;22 - 00;51;10;01
Speaker 3
V ten. 10,000 RPM Redline and.

00;51;10;03 - 00;51;22;16
Speaker 2
Oh, because, you know, you know what it kind of reminds me of. And this is like when they first took the, the cover off, I was like, oh, you know what kind of it kind of reminds me of the Apollo II, in a way. Yep. Like that kind of century.

00;51;22;16 - 00;51;35;23
Speaker 3
It's a much more refined all the way. And I was I would also say if the Apollo II had a much more restrained baby with the Lamborghini, with the orange on the window.

00;51;37;13 - 00;51;54;20
Speaker 2
Oh, yeah, stupid thing. The weird one that I know which one you're talking about. I can't remember the name of it. Yeah, it's. It's like. It's like an Apollo II. If McLaren designed it because we all know what McLaren's like designing things. The Astra is.

00;51;54;29 - 00;51;58;00
Speaker 3
The ego Easter egg. Ego Easter. That was it. Yeah.

00;51;58;01 - 00;51;59;14
Speaker 2
Egotist, whatever.

00;51;59;16 - 00;52;00;08
Speaker 3
Ego, Easter.

00;52;00;16 - 00;52;01;05
Speaker 2
Ego, Easter.

00;52;01;22 - 00;52;03;00
Speaker 3
Whatever it means.

00;52;03;14 - 00;52;05;07
Speaker 2
Ego thing for Lamborghini.

00;52;05;12 - 00;52;07;09
Speaker 3
It means selfish, but whatever.

00;52;07;09 - 00;52;07;25
Speaker 2
I don't really care.

00;52;08;02 - 00;52;09;28
Speaker 1
Lamborghini, it does look like that.

00;52;09;28 - 00;52;12;01
Speaker 3
I don't know. We've obviously got the goods.

00;52;12;01 - 00;52;13;29
Speaker 1
Make a car that won't even exist.

00;52;13;29 - 00;52;15;11
Speaker 2
We'll call it selfish. Perfect.

00;52;15;12 - 00;52;22;22
Speaker 3
Exactly. Speaking of Lamborghini, they got the new Urus performance. 650 saw that. I like it and I hate it at the same time.

00;52;22;23 - 00;52;24;18
Speaker 2
I'm in this exact same boat.

00;52;24;22 - 00;52;30;08
Speaker 3
I love it. I think it looks great. I think it's going to be great. Yeah. I just hate that this is where cars are going.

00;52;30;18 - 00;52;48;27
Speaker 2
And I think my my biggest gripe with it is people are going to buy it. But they're not going to buy it for the same reason that they would buy a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GTI. Correct? Because if you buy a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GTI, you're buying it to take it to the racetrack. You're going to drive it around occasionally.

00;52;48;27 - 00;52;52;02
Speaker 3
Yeah, like once a year you take it out, you actually give it a good, proper.

00;52;52;10 - 00;52;53;08
Speaker 2
Good, proper.

00;52;53;08 - 00;53;00;05
Speaker 3
Yeah, yeah. The Lamborghini will never see that it's a status thing. It's just to say you had it there and to basically drive by the certainly.

00;53;00;15 - 00;53;02;00
Speaker 2
There's going to be whatever.

00;53;02;00 - 00;53;03;12
Speaker 3
I'm not ready for the Manzarek cuts.

00;53;03;12 - 00;53;17;23
Speaker 2
No, it's going to you're going to have rappers buying it, wrapping it in chrome gold, whatever it is. Yeah. And you know, they're never going to exploit what Lamborghini has done to make it that much better than the regular years.

00;53;17;23 - 00;53;28;23
Speaker 3
No, I'm not into it at all. What I am into. Yes, heavily into. Okay. And I would describe this as probably my favorite car realist, actually. Okay, somewhat.

00;53;29;00 - 00;53;30;17
Speaker 2
Pull your pants back up, Jason. Come down.

00;53;31;04 - 00;53;33;22
Speaker 3
Bentley Mulliner the Mulliner.

00;53;33;24 - 00;53;38;26
Speaker 2
Oh, the Mulliner my car, whatever it is. Oh, by two or that's it.

00;53;39;16 - 00;53;46;22
Speaker 3
Yeah, I love it. I okay. I don't know why I like Bentley's all of a sudden, but I love that.

00;53;46;25 - 00;53;47;13
Speaker 2
You know what?

00;53;47;13 - 00;53;50;17
Speaker 3
It looks perfect. That's how the Continental should have looked.

00;53;50;17 - 00;54;05;05
Speaker 2
You know what it is? It is a hardtop version of the Bentley. What was that? Convertible? Super rare one that they did back here because there was a battery in the back.

00;54;05;09 - 00;54;06;04
Speaker 3
Or something like.

00;54;06;04 - 00;54;09;13
Speaker 2
That. I know. Don't like that was the yellow one. Yes. There you go. Yeah, perfect.

00;54;09;15 - 00;54;10;10
Speaker 1
Okay. I know you're mean.

00;54;10;13 - 00;54;13;00
Speaker 2
It's a hardtop version of that, right. So it is, I guess.

00;54;13;00 - 00;54;13;26
Speaker 3
Yeah. 2 million.

00;54;13;26 - 00;54;16;08
Speaker 1
Dollars. Is it that much, too? I hate it.

00;54;16;15 - 00;54;19;15
Speaker 3
That's too much. Never mind. I hate it's my least favorite car, which.

00;54;19;27 - 00;54;22;06
Speaker 1
If you if you came out for 500.

00;54;22;06 - 00;54;23;17
Speaker 3
I think that makes a lot of sense to me.

00;54;23;17 - 00;54;24;14
Speaker 1
Yeah. Yeah.

00;54;24;15 - 00;54;33;25
Speaker 2
If, if Bentley said, hey, you know what, we're going to take the regular Continental GTI, we're going to restyle it a little bit and we're going to make it limited production and it's going to be half a million dollars. Yeah.

00;54;34;03 - 00;54;34;13
Speaker 1
Sure.

00;54;34;23 - 00;54;50;11
Speaker 3
If you just came out with your facelift, that was the facelift for the Continental done the new John. I would love that. I thought that's what that was. So now I hate that car from at least favorite car. No, BMW is BMW and division is testing a quad motor EV prototype. Okay, interesting. That's all I have on that.

00;54;50;11 - 00;54;57;24
Speaker 3
I think that's I think that's can be something to watch. Yeah. I have a feeling that BMW is coming with something big that we're not ready for. So I would.

00;54;58;06 - 00;55;01;02
Speaker 2
Be something to listen to. But it's electric, so. Ha ha ha.

00;55;01;02 - 00;55;22;25
Speaker 3
Ha ha ha. I hate workers are going. Uh, let's take another look. I've got some more stuff for you. Oh, so this was a big one? Mm hmm. I don't think this has got a lot of press, too, and I don't know how legit this actually is. It's been reported by a couple people, a couple of outlets, including car and driver and the Mustang Mule, something like that, I don't know.

00;55;22;25 - 00;55;24;26
Speaker 1
But it's a 7.3 liter V8 that.

00;55;24;26 - 00;55;26;17
Speaker 3
Ford is testing right now on the Mustang's.

00;55;26;23 - 00;55;28;16
Speaker 2
7.3 LiDAR.

00;55;29;01 - 00;55;36;01
Speaker 3
No other specs that I'm aware of, but 7.3 liter. And they're testing this right now. So we'll see what happens. But that is.

00;55;36;01 - 00;55;36;23
Speaker 1
Really.

00;55;36;23 - 00;55;39;09
Speaker 3
Cool that we're seeing high displacement engines like that.

00;55;39;13 - 00;55;48;10
Speaker 2
It makes sense because Ford is going to be coming out with the seventh, seventh generation Mustang.

00;55;48;10 - 00;55;48;26
Speaker 3
Yeah, it's coming.

00;55;48;26 - 00;55;58;06
Speaker 2
Up later this I would say till later this month. But it's a 31st of August that we're recording this. But later this is in September. Yeah.

00;56;00;12 - 00;56;05;14
Speaker 2
So yeah, I think I think the new seventh, I could be wrong in saying seventh gen, but I think I'm right.

00;56;05;23 - 00;56;06;17
Speaker 3
Next gen.

00;56;06;17 - 00;56;11;11
Speaker 2
Next generation Mustang. Yeah, there you go. But yeah. 7.3 liter.

00;56;12;07 - 00;56;27;26
Speaker 3
That would crazy. Pretty crazy. It's a good sign that you still got automakers that have the balls to have a high displacement engine where an old friend seems to be electric. That's why I bring up BMW M because it's like they're going all in there and Ford is like, we're sticking with the high displacement engines.

00;56;27;26 - 00;56;30;24
Speaker 2
And you know what? Dodge just discontinuing their hellcats.

00;56;31;14 - 00;56;33;01
Speaker 3
Yeah. So I wouldn't.

00;56;33;15 - 00;56;38;19
Speaker 2
I wouldn't be surprised if that's why Ford has their 7.3 liter V8, because.

00;56;38;19 - 00;56;40;15
Speaker 3
Just because they know they don't have to compete, they.

00;56;40;15 - 00;56;43;24
Speaker 2
Know they don't have to compete anymore. Point it's good point, right?

00;56;43;28 - 00;57;00;09
Speaker 3
Yeah, it's true because I mean, you're going to see a lot of those guys who maybe missed out on it. And the used values on a lot of these hellcat models are just going to be insane. Oh, like, it's worth it. Like, why would you get a two maybe, you know, a 2018 Hellcat when you get a 2023 Mustang for around the same price?

00;57;00;09 - 00;57;15;24
Speaker 3
Yeah. People will always go to the newer if it's about the same price. Oh yeah. So that's interesting. Yep. Speaking of the the Dodge name. Yep. Super B is coming back 2023 to bring it back plumb crazy by the look of it. Oh you know and then.

00;57;16;07 - 00;57;18;20
Speaker 1
Which I would say is a really interesting point.

00;57;19;23 - 00;57;22;22
Speaker 3
The 2023 Civic Type R 315 Horse.

00;57;23;11 - 00;57;24;10
Speaker 2
315 three.

00;57;24;10 - 00;57;27;13
Speaker 3
15 I think it looks like look a bag of crap.

00;57;27;27 - 00;57;30;20
Speaker 2
Personally, I think it looks better than the previous generation though.

00;57;30;29 - 00;57;35;29
Speaker 3
I think the other one was so insane, stupid looking. I liked.

00;57;35;29 - 00;57;39;18
Speaker 1
It. See, I think this looks a little too civic. That's.

00;57;39;18 - 00;57;41;24
Speaker 2
But that's why I liked it. That's why I like the Civic.

00;57;41;24 - 00;57;46;14
Speaker 3
I don't like the current Gen Civic. I don't like it as much. I think it just looks.

00;57;47;29 - 00;57;51;17
Speaker 1
It just looks like somebody like it looks like a shoe or like a loaf.

00;57;51;17 - 00;57;53;01
Speaker 3
Of bread. Somebody stepped on half.

00;57;53;01 - 00;57;54;14
Speaker 2
Of I don't mind it. I like it.

00;57;54;15 - 00;57;55;15
Speaker 3
I don't.

00;57;55;15 - 00;57;56;01
Speaker 2
I like it.

00;57;56;20 - 00;58;04;28
Speaker 3
It looks better. And other colors, I guess the back looks now. It looks stupid. I don't like it. The interior looks great.

00;58;04;28 - 00;58;08;13
Speaker 2
Actually, I still like it. I don't like it.

00;58;08;15 - 00;58;21;23
Speaker 3
All I know is that's the kind of car that keeps the world running. Really? Yeah. Is that the whole BRC kind of stuff? I know people are getting real sour on the busy these days, but, uh, those are the.

00;58;21;23 - 00;58;26;16
Speaker 2
Commercials. Are you going to find an affordable manual rear wheel drive sports?

00;58;26;16 - 00;58;29;07
Speaker 3
I believe Mazda has some options, you know.

00;58;29;23 - 00;58;32;18
Speaker 2
And option and off and options.

00;58;32;18 - 00;58;34;18
Speaker 1
Yeah I know it's there's not too much of the.

00;58;34;28 - 00;58;35;15
Speaker 2
Five.

00;58;35;15 - 00;58;37;19
Speaker 3
The BMW he's got something well.

00;58;37;28 - 00;58;42;14
Speaker 2
Affordable I'm talking you affordable. I'm talking I'm talking for less than $40,000.

00;58;42;22 - 00;58;45;29
Speaker 3
Yeah. You don't see too much of it. It's the kind of stuff that keeps the world running.

00;58;45;29 - 00;58;48;22
Speaker 1
But actually, how much is the civic type R?

00;58;48;23 - 00;58;50;03
Speaker 2
It's going to be 50 grand.

00;58;50;25 - 00;58;52;00
Speaker 3
It can't be that much.

00;58;52;00 - 00;58;56;27
Speaker 2
It's going to be 50 grand. There's still the previous generations are still selling for 50 grand.

00;58;58;02 - 00;59;02;24
Speaker 3
Estimated to start at 39,000 U.S.. That is a lot of coin for a Honda Civic.

00;59;03;04 - 00;59;04;21
Speaker 2
Yeah, 40 grand U.S..

00;59;05;26 - 00;59;06;17
Speaker 3
It's a lot of money.

00;59;06;17 - 00;59;08;21
Speaker 2
And that's before dealerships start marking it up.

00;59;10;00 - 00;59;16;17
Speaker 3
The problem is, why the hell wouldn't you just go buy like something sick used? Why would you not go buy supercharged jag used? You can't.

00;59;16;18 - 00;59;17;18
Speaker 2
Not in the States.

00;59;18;04 - 00;59;19;06
Speaker 3
Yeah, maybe not in the states.

00;59;19;06 - 00;59;22;09
Speaker 1
Not in the States and things in the States. You're going it's kind of funny how we're.

00;59;22;09 - 00;59;31;10
Speaker 3
Just tripping like supercharged Jags for, like, 15 grand. Yeah, it's insane. Yeah. I don't know. Don't let the Americans find out or never be able to buy a car again.

00;59;32;04 - 00;59;34;07
Speaker 1
Well, still all of our oil and all of our cars.

00;59;35;11 - 00;59;40;10
Speaker 3
Yeah, don't do that. But anyways, that's the car news. That's all I got, really. I mean, there's been a lot there's.

00;59;40;29 - 00;59;44;14
Speaker 2
Been there has been a lot. We have been Muppets. We have been.

00;59;44;14 - 00;59;49;14
Speaker 3
We have. But it was like boom, boom, boom. It was like a week and a half. Just constant car news and crazy.

00;59;49;17 - 00;59;55;11
Speaker 2
That's when we we both realized, hey, you know what, we've been on a break. There's been a lot of shit going on. We got to. Yeah, we got to talk about this.

00;59;55;12 - 01;00;01;26
Speaker 3
Oh, absolutely. So I'm glad we got to. I'm glad you got to. Well, I think it's a good time to talk about a car that we hate.

01;00;01;26 - 01;00;02;13
Speaker 1
I think it.

01;00;02;13 - 01;00;05;02
Speaker 3
Is this week of fuck that car.

01;00;05;02 - 01;00;05;11
Speaker 2
Yeah.

01;00;06;00 - 01;00;07;00
Speaker 3
It's actually joint week.

01;00;07;03 - 01;00;10;22
Speaker 2
It is a joint. And because we couldn't we honestly couldn't remember. Yeah, we can really sorry.

01;00;11;00 - 01;00;11;29
Speaker 1
So I didn't.

01;00;11;29 - 01;00;13;23
Speaker 3
Really want to bother to try to remember.

01;00;13;23 - 01;00;14;12
Speaker 2
I rock paper.

01;00;14;12 - 01;00;18;16
Speaker 3
I type so yeah it was but we strongly agreed on the same car.

01;00;18;17 - 01;00;19;00
Speaker 2
Yes.

01;00;19;11 - 01;00;21;16
Speaker 3
And yeah.

01;00;21;16 - 01;00;23;05
Speaker 1
Surprise, surprise. It's electric.

01;00;23;06 - 01;00;36;17
Speaker 3
Yeah. And we'll get my one of my favorite songs. Yes. There it is. Perfect. It is. None other than the Tesla model three. And I hate it. Frankly, I.

01;00;36;17 - 01;00;41;09
Speaker 1
Do. I really do. Like the Model S.

01;00;41;09 - 01;00;42;22
Speaker 2
The bigger sedan. Yeah.

01;00;42;22 - 01;00;44;09
Speaker 1
Yeah, I think it's good enough.

01;00;44;23 - 01;01;00;17
Speaker 3
I think it's a good representative for the future of electric cars, even though we don't really want that to be the future. But That model three is like the opposite mobile because it's built by idiots. It's like built by Buick La Saber who like industrialists.

01;01;00;17 - 01;01;06;15
Speaker 1
Yes. It doesn't really look that good. It looks kind of stupid. Like it just looks.

01;01;06;15 - 01;01;10;23
Speaker 3
Like it's such a better, like, ask permission to go to the bathroom kind of car racing.

01;01;10;23 - 01;01;11;17
Speaker 2
The model Y.

01;01;12;12 - 01;01;13;14
Speaker 1
Now. Yeah, I have a.

01;01;13;14 - 01;01;14;27
Speaker 2
Little SUV version of the model.

01;01;14;27 - 01;01;16;04
Speaker 3
Three. Yeah, I don't like it.

01;01;16;04 - 01;01;21;12
Speaker 1
It looks like a model. The models being squished kind of cool. Yeah, but it's overpriced.

01;01;21;12 - 01;01;24;13
Speaker 2
I think the model X is only cool because of the falcon wing doors.

01;01;24;24 - 01;01;29;28
Speaker 1
Yeah, which is enough. Frankly, it is a gimmick, and it isn't a very good gimmick.

01;01;29;28 - 01;01;31;01
Speaker 2
Everyone loves a good gimmick.

01;01;31;03 - 01;01;32;07
Speaker 1
Yeah, I'll take it.

01;01;32;16 - 01;01;33;12
Speaker 2
Whatever it is.

01;01;33;12 - 01;01;36;24
Speaker 3
Overpriced, it is overpriced. I'd rather have a high end. Pretty much.

01;01;36;26 - 01;01;43;14
Speaker 1
Yes. But getting back to the model three, it's just. It's built like such a wrap. It's looks like.

01;01;43;18 - 01;01;52;29
Speaker 3
Garbage frequently has issues, it's oversimplified to inside to the point where people are like, Oh, it's so clean and modern.

01;01;52;29 - 01;01;59;15
Speaker 1
And but the no, no, no, no. Having terrible event locations in your car and how sleek is nice.

01;01;59;15 - 01;02;01;02
Speaker 2
Screen to do everything.

01;02;01;02 - 01;02;10;15
Speaker 1
And then just everything your pretty control everything in that car shows fingerprints yes it's stupid. No gauge cluster. Nope. Like I won't go into the faults.

01;02;10;15 - 01;02;11;21
Speaker 3
Of electric cars themselves.

01;02;11;26 - 01;02;15;10
Speaker 1
But just this car stinks. Do. It's so stupid.

01;02;15;11 - 01;02;17;10
Speaker 2
And it looks like a hatchback, but it's nice.

01;02;17;10 - 01;02;23;09
Speaker 1
The door handles freeze in the winter. Yeah, it creaks and it crumbles in the plastics, all out of sorts.

01;02;23;09 - 01;02;27;01
Speaker 2
And the panel gaps are atrocious. Panel gaps are atrocious. Atrocious.

01;02;27;01 - 01;02;28;09
Speaker 3
It's expensive.

01;02;28;09 - 01;02;29;28
Speaker 1
For what it really is.

01;02;29;28 - 01;02;33;01
Speaker 2
Because they start at what I think it's 30, 39.

01;02;33;01 - 01;02;37;24
Speaker 3
It's got ish around there, 40 grand. So you could have a civic type R brand for paper.

01;02;38;11 - 01;02;43;20
Speaker 1
Civic car, three grand, the same size and a way better cleaner. Yeah. So, like, why would you not?

01;02;43;25 - 01;02;47;06
Speaker 2
So and the amount of other cars you could have for 40 grand.

01;02;48;04 - 01;02;55;06
Speaker 3
The discussion really that is the discussion honestly it is for 40 grand if you just want to have I don't know what I don't know.

01;02;55;13 - 01;02;56;24
Speaker 1
What the fascination is with new.

01;02;56;24 - 01;03;05;06
Speaker 2
Cars. I'm thinking 40 grand Canadian because 40 grand U.S., you might get a 23 Ford F-150, right?

01;03;05;07 - 01;03;06;19
Speaker 3
We'll say 40 grand Canadian.

01;03;06;19 - 01;03;07;02
Speaker 2
40 grand.

01;03;07;08 - 01;03;13;18
Speaker 3
American boys. It is about a 30% difference. So our money's worth 30% less.

01;03;13;18 - 01;03;45;19
Speaker 2
So I think it's like, what, 35 grand, 34, 35 grand to start ish. We'll say 35, whatever, 35 grand, whatever, close enough. So for for 40 grand Canadian, the Canadian car market isn't as absurd as the American car market at the moment. Thankfully, for 40 grand Canadian, you could buy what you could buy a very well spec jag like a newer modern JAG, like an x f for an x j.

01;03;45;25 - 01;04;03;29
Speaker 2
Right. You could buy a couple decent Porsches. You could buy a cayenne for 40 grand easily. You could buy what else? Um, if you wanted a sports car, you could. There's plenty of sports cars. If you wanted something luxurious, you could buy something luxurious. I think you can get any of other.

01;04;04;28 - 01;04;09;18
Speaker 3
Jags with the big one. Jackson But I really think you can get a lot of Jags for around that price range.

01;04;09;18 - 01;04;17;17
Speaker 2
You can get some good Volvos. Yeah, if you wanted like a good, reliable, like, wagon or hatchback or whatever, solid car for 40 grand.

01;04;17;17 - 01;04;24;01
Speaker 3
You could buy a lot of great Benzes. You can get a Benz like 2013 wagon about like an E, you.

01;04;24;01 - 01;04;25;27
Speaker 2
Could buy a C63.

01;04;26;10 - 01;04;28;23
Speaker 3
You can, you could you could buy a C63 for 20,000.

01;04;28;23 - 01;04;31;18
Speaker 2
Canadian for 20,000 Canadian, Canadian, Canadian, which.

01;04;31;18 - 01;04;32;01
Speaker 3
Is about.

01;04;32;01 - 01;04;38;16
Speaker 1
Three quid. Yeah. So, like, I don't know, there's just so many options.

01;04;38;16 - 01;05;02;06
Speaker 3
You got great Mercedes out there. I wouldn't buy a Benz for that much as a lot of great Jags. You can go get Pontiac GT, which is basically just a Corvette or a Holden Commodore. Commodore, exactly. Uh, I don't know, man. Just this list goes on and on. And when we get back to the original point here. Yeah, the model three just represents everything I hate about the cyclical nature of cars.

01;05;02;13 - 01;05;14;09
Speaker 3
I've just buy a new one, throw it out. Yeah, it's just a disposable piece of crap that's built, like, by idiots. It really is. Because everything the quality control on is so bad. Okay, so it's designed like.

01;05;14;22 - 01;05;15;15
Speaker 2
I do want to mention.

01;05;15;15 - 01;05;16;15
Speaker 1
The over simplicity.

01;05;16;15 - 01;05;29;19
Speaker 3
And cheapness is supposed to be a luxury in that car. And that's really what irks me, like not having features and then saying your dash is really simple, is not like, Oh, that's a good design. It's a no. Like you have a base model that just doesn't have cloth seats.

01;05;29;28 - 01;05;32;17
Speaker 1
Yeah. Like that's, that's all it is. It's no different than driving.

01;05;32;17 - 01;05;33;19
Speaker 3
A Chrysler crossfire.

01;05;33;19 - 01;05;47;00
Speaker 2
Yeah. The idea behind it to create a long range electric vehicle that has performance and functionality at a lower price point. I agree with the execution, however, was not done well.

01;05;47;24 - 01;05;53;13
Speaker 3
No. Well, it was done to save money because the execution was definitely a lot better for the Model S let's oh.

01;05;53;19 - 01;05;54;09
Speaker 2
100.

01;05;54;09 - 01;06;03;22
Speaker 3
50 So it was just a cheap car to get idiots to buy it and it worked. I just don't like having to hear about it from people who have that car. Yeah, drives me nuts.

01;06;03;28 - 01;06;06;29
Speaker 1
All right, let's get started. In my garage, I.

01;06;06;29 - 01;06;08;02
Speaker 2
Drive a Tesla.

01;06;08;04 - 01;06;12;15
Speaker 1
Ooh, la di da. Mr. French man the garage is like, Oh, God.

01;06;13;00 - 01;06;16;04
Speaker 3
I hate it. It's just. It's here in my garage.

01;06;16;06 - 01;06;18;19
Speaker 2
Got this new Lamborghini here.

01;06;19;04 - 01;06;19;22
Speaker 1
I forgot about.

01;06;19;22 - 01;06;20;10
Speaker 3
That.

01;06;20;10 - 01;06;21;25
Speaker 2
I got this new Tesla three here.

01;06;21;25 - 01;06;22;26
Speaker 3
That's a classic meme.

01;06;22;26 - 01;06;23;15
Speaker 2
It is a classic.

01;06;23;15 - 01;06;43;03
Speaker 3
Yeah. I don't like that car. I do not like that car at all, man. So whatever, it just it just really represents. It's a less heated version of fact, that car really it compared to in the past. But it's just because it's so easy. Like, it's just it's everything we.

01;06;43;03 - 01;06;46;24
Speaker 2
Had to think about. It was something that was like, it's a car that we both dislike.

01;06;46;24 - 01;07;08;10
Speaker 3
It's literally everything I hate about, like, cars right now. It's boring, it's uninspired, it's cheaply made. It's meant for idiots. Idiots buy it, idiots tout it and say it's lovely. I hate it. And it just, I don't know, I just really feel like if you buy it, you care about yourself. Only it's a status. It's the cheapest status.

01;07;08;10 - 01;07;16;11
Speaker 3
Car you can buy is a Tesla model three. Mm hmm. And that's the only reason I think people buy it at this point. Right.

01;07;16;11 - 01;07;18;10
Speaker 1
You see, cause you don't see that much money with the man.

01;07;18;10 - 01;07;19;15
Speaker 2
See, a lot of those in Toronto.

01;07;20;00 - 01;07;41;21
Speaker 3
I know. Even in London now you see a tunnel. Yeah, it's disgusting. So I don't know. I don't know. It's just if you bothered to do 5 minutes of research, you could get a Porsche Panamera for 40 grand. You could get like there's so many cool things you could get it. And if you just knew, like, like how to do an oil change, you'd feel so much better buying a car like that.

01;07;41;24 - 01;07;59;12
Speaker 3
JAGS If you just knew that a 2011 JAG Zephyr has the exact same starter motor as a Ford Focus, you'd feel a lot, a lot better about buying a car like that. You're like, Oh no, I don't know. The reliability stuff. I don't want to hear it. You run out of fucking gas in.

01;07;59;12 - 01;08;04;16
Speaker 1
A Tesla, you know what happens? You throw it out because you can't do it because it locks up.

01;08;04;16 - 01;08;19;28
Speaker 3
Yeah, I think somewhat of a common known fact, but if you don't, yeah. If you run out of juice in a Tesla, it's done. It's literally it literally locks up and they have to, like, basically drag the car onto a flatbed and then drag it off and it usually ruins the car.

01;08;19;29 - 01;08;20;06
Speaker 2
Yeah.

01;08;21;11 - 01;08;24;10
Speaker 3
So you can't you straight up cannot run and use.

01;08;24;16 - 01;08;27;22
Speaker 2
If you get to like 1%, you have to call a tow truck.

01;08;28;03 - 01;08;32;00
Speaker 3
Yeah. ARONOFF Do you know what happens when my Mercedes runs out of gas?

01;08;32;19 - 01;08;33;13
Speaker 2
You get a Jerry can.

01;08;33;21 - 01;08;37;29
Speaker 1
Yeah. Really? Yeah. Oh, great. So it's one of those things and you just fill it up.

01;08;37;29 - 01;08;39;27
Speaker 3
With gas and it can be from anywhere.

01;08;40;13 - 01;08;44;16
Speaker 2
Anywhere. Yeah, you can go to any gas station and get 91 and fill up your Mercedes.

01;08;44;16 - 01;08;52;20
Speaker 3
Yes. Like if you wanted to get gasoline our way and then have somebody drive it to you like like you don't get it. Somebody else can bring you the gas.

01;08;52;21 - 01;08;55;10
Speaker 2
Well, wait, are you saying the closest gas station is an hour away?

01;08;55;10 - 01;09;00;11
Speaker 3
No, I'm saying it can come from anywhere. It doesn't have to be like the closest one. Oh, look, it's like, go wherever.

01;09;00;19 - 01;09;01;28
Speaker 2
Well, but I mean, like.

01;09;01;28 - 01;09;05;27
Speaker 3
With it doesn't have to be like certain gas. Like it doesn't have to be like a Tesla charge.

01;09;05;29 - 01;09;06;28
Speaker 2
Chargepoint. No, I.

01;09;06;28 - 01;09;08;14
Speaker 3
Understand. Yeah. So stations.

01;09;08;14 - 01;09;17;21
Speaker 2
Yeah, that was that was what I was wondering because you know, I understand with Tesla is if you need to charge it, you have to take it to a Tesla charging station most of the time, unless you have one of those.

01;09;17;21 - 01;09;20;16
Speaker 3
Otherwise it takes like 18 hours or something like that. Yeah.

01;09;20;23 - 01;09;29;27
Speaker 2
So you don't have to get it towed an hour away from your house. So you could just not, you know, have someone go to a gas station that's maybe 5 minutes away. Yeah, wherever.

01;09;29;29 - 01;09;42;12
Speaker 3
Yeah, it's really cool, but you don't have to do it. Anybody can do it. And the at the gas station were great with the jerry cans. There's no adapters, okay. Which is pretty cool. And you just fill.

01;09;42;12 - 01;09;46;22
Speaker 2
And you fill up your jerry can in the back of a truck.

01;09;46;22 - 01;09;48;06
Speaker 1
Yeah I so.

01;09;48;16 - 01;09;50;26
Speaker 3
Then you just leave it in the back of the truck and just the hose.

01;09;51;06 - 01;09;54;16
Speaker 2
Because I think there are stickers that say you can't. So I think that's a mark against jerry cans.

01;09;54;16 - 01;09;55;20
Speaker 1
Can't and.

01;09;56;02 - 01;09;56;21
Speaker 3
Shouldn't.

01;09;57;01 - 01;09;57;05
Speaker 2
Or.

01;09;57;29 - 01;10;09;11
Speaker 1
Or that's a bit of a gray. I seem to recall going to a certain race and seeing as our boy Sam Fellows, I seem to recall opening the hatch of the SUV.

01;10;09;11 - 01;10;10;10
Speaker 3
With a generator in.

01;10;10;11 - 01;10;17;24
Speaker 1
And filling up a generator that was inside of a car. Inside the backseat of a car with the hose inside.

01;10;18;05 - 01;10;22;03
Speaker 2
I, I will not confirm or deny this to all confirm it.

01;10;22;08 - 01;10;22;22
Speaker 3
Well.

01;10;23;03 - 01;10;29;07
Speaker 1
I so can come after me. I'll talk to you about a sponsorship while they talk to me. No, I. Yeah, I don't know.

01;10;29;08 - 01;10;35;11
Speaker 3
There's, there's many things you can do with jerry cans. It's quite interesting. And the best part is you want to know what happens when you run out of gas.

01;10;36;00 - 01;10;36;17
Speaker 2
You get more.

01;10;37;05 - 01;10;39;18
Speaker 3
Well, yeah, but if, like, you couldn't get more.

01;10;40;27 - 01;10;42;15
Speaker 1
You will you can get towed.

01;10;42;23 - 01;10;44;11
Speaker 2
Or can you. Yeah. Oh, I was going.

01;10;44;11 - 01;10;54;08
Speaker 3
To say so the tow trucks, the cool part about the tow trucks and I don't think a lot of people know this is that they weren't actually designed to rip the fucking front of your car off and.

01;10;54;08 - 01;11;00;28
Speaker 1
Drag it by the wheels. They're actually a meant for there's all these cars there. It's crazy. All these cars out there.

01;11;00;28 - 01;11;04;04
Speaker 3
That run on gas. Yeah. Like there's a lot of them and.

01;11;04;24 - 01;11;17;07
Speaker 1
They don't have to get dragged on to a flatbed like like a dog that doesn't want to go outside in the rain or a cat that doesn't want to take a bath. You know, that seems to be the mode that Teslas go into.

01;11;17;13 - 01;11;18;10
Speaker 3
Is this cat bath.

01;11;18;10 - 01;11;30;11
Speaker 2
Mode. I got to say, I'm going to feel really bad for Jeep owners when jeep making electric cars because they're not going to be able to get high on fumes anymore. I'm going to feel really, really bad for Jeep owners.

01;11;31;08 - 01;11;35;18
Speaker 3
Yeah, well maybe for a minute. Yeah, not for too long.

01;11;35;27 - 01;11;42;01
Speaker 2
Well, they'll probably just find a way to start burning the electric clutch and then getting high on that.

01;11;42;18 - 01;11;46;22
Speaker 3
Yeah. If they were really ever in trouble, you could always just burn seat covers or the steering wheel cover.

01;11;46;22 - 01;11;48;08
Speaker 2
That will cover that. You have a flush.

01;11;48;08 - 01;11;52;09
Speaker 3
Steering wheel, a nice long burn. Yeah. Yeah I think, yeah. Well.

01;11;53;08 - 01;11;58;25
Speaker 1
I don't know man. I think that like, do we have any, do we cover all the news here. I think everything for the the news.

01;11;58;26 - 01;12;02;28
Speaker 2
Or is the news motorsport F1. Yeah I think that pretty much sums it up. Yeah.

01;12;02;28 - 01;12;06;02
Speaker 3
I can't really think of too much else going on now.

01;12;06;02 - 01;12;07;22
Speaker 1
It'll be good. We're hoping for a little.

01;12;07;22 - 01;12;10;06
Speaker 3
Bit more for as the news here I think the next couple of weeks and.

01;12;10;18 - 01;12;11;19
Speaker 2
Hopefully.

01;12;11;19 - 01;12;30;08
Speaker 3
Yeah, we still got some big things in the works there's still some big things in the pipeline that are coming, right? Yeah. So no, we're excited, but it's good to be back. It's good to be back on the old Mike and Andrew. We'll be back next week. Yes, which is good. So we're going to you know, Andrew's been away to do some training stuff.

01;12;30;11 - 01;12;31;05
Speaker 3
I don't even remember.

01;12;31;08 - 01;12;32;15
Speaker 2
Family stuff, whatever he was doing.

01;12;32;15 - 01;12;35;09
Speaker 3
Yeah, he was on P.E.I. there for a little bit, so, you know.

01;12;35;09 - 01;12;36;12
Speaker 1
So it'll be good.

01;12;37;00 - 01;12;52;23
Speaker 3
We'll have the full crew together next week. We'll be back to the regular scheduled programing somewhat schedule our schedule and schedule and Jason's schedule. Exactly. And I'll be good and I'll have some words on how my tailgate getting fixed tonight.

01;12;52;24 - 01;12;53;28
Speaker 2
Yes, I'm looking I'll have some.

01;12;53;28 - 01;13;04;06
Speaker 3
Words on how that works, because at that point, I think that Cadillac is finally going to be fixed. I don't think there's going to be any issues with it. I think that's the last thing that actually.

01;13;04;06 - 01;13;05;23
Speaker 2
Drives across the border. And yeah.

01;13;05;23 - 01;13;05;28
Speaker 3
It.

01;13;05;28 - 01;13;07;21
Speaker 1
Almost got hit by a big log.

01;13;08;00 - 01;13;08;11
Speaker 2
Did it?

01;13;08;13 - 01;13;26;06
Speaker 3
Yes. I will show you after this. But. Oh, okay. Quite a hefty log that fell off of a tree. And had I not moved it, it would have hit the front of my car, which coincidentally was the only thing that didn't get repainted at the stupid body shop for the past little bit. So had it hit the front of my car, I would have someone dived off of a bridge 100 feet or higher.

01;13;26;20 - 01;13;32;26
Speaker 3
Without a doubt I would have been so upset. And the Mercedes was there too. And I've had either one of them. I would have straight upright.

01;13;32;27 - 01;13;33;26
Speaker 1
Yeah, Mercedes.

01;13;33;26 - 01;13;34;26
Speaker 3
I would have been homicidal.

01;13;35;01 - 01;13;45;10
Speaker 1
Yes, homicidal fun. Oh, my God. So I don't know. So we'll let you know how the tailgate goes next week. And we should have some more car news. And Yemen.

01;13;45;15 - 01;13;49;07
Speaker 2
Yeah, they're all good. So good. Good. Episode eight Thank you very much for joining us.

01;13;49;07 - 01;13;51;10
Speaker 1
And we're talking with a.

01;13;52;05 - 01;14;27;14
Speaker 4
Local member of the SEAL team down the that to live on the sandbar it's way way way way way.
